Red Hairdo: I just read "Shining Pom Bag" as "Shining Porn Bag" for a brief moment. XD Damn fonts I'm accustomed to. May 27, 2015 14:44:28 GMT -5
flame: There's no topic for Ys vs. Sora. But, I know nothing, so I don't want to make a topic about it. What I want to know: How good is this game? Results for "Ys vs. Sora Review" search were... less than enlightening. I do know Famitsu gave it 7s (out of 10). May 27, 2015 16:47:23 GMT -5
Red Hairdo: The game in my opinion is great. No flaws. However, depending on the kind of Ys (or I guess even Kiseki) fan you are, you may find it lackluster. Which basically means some love it, and some really don't care for it. But I love it. :) May 27, 2015 17:59:51 GMT -5
jdkluv: I didn't really like Ys vs. SnK to be honest. May 27, 2015 18:02:43 GMT -5
jdkluv: The battle system didn't feel nearly as tight as Ys Seven's, even though it shares the same engine. May 27, 2015 18:03:27 GMT -5 *
Wyrdwad: I agree. The biggest issue is that they tried to cram too many functions into it, so you kind of... run out of buttons. And there's just plain no button configuration that's comfortable, as a result. The game also has framerate issues in multiplayer. May 27, 2015 19:08:54 GMT -5
Wyrdwad: Though it is surprisingly well-written, if you can read the Japanese text. Genuinely very funny, especially where Adol is involved. And I like that it takes place in the world of Xanadu Next for some reason. ;) May 27, 2015 19:09:33 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: I've finished it a few times as well and it is pretty fun to play. Glad to hear that the dialogue is pretty funny. I also like that it takes place in the world of Xanadu. May 27, 2015 19:43:29 GMT -5 *
schlagwerk: I bought Ys vs SnK for the music assortment. I was not disappointed. May 28, 2015 12:07:57 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: The nice thing is if we do get more into the translation for Ys vs. SNK I own most, if not all of the Xanadu books and have pretty much all of the "Monster Data" with English name counterparts. May 28, 2015 12:14:03 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: I believe we've already seen a few instances where Monster Names were listed in kana, so we could be pretty accurate with the names for these, many of which are straight out of the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual. May 28, 2015 12:14:58 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: What I hope we can do with Ys vs. SNK though would be to see if there is any possible way to get the local Network Mode working through the PPSSPP emulator so that we could play online matches. May 28, 2015 12:29:45 GMT -5 *
SkyeWelse: I honestly have no idea if something like that would even be possible, but if it were, imagine how much fun that would be. : ) May 28, 2015 12:32:34 GMT -5
Truner: My total time in Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki is 2d21h56m and I've exhausted Mona's Shop (that's over 10000 items purchased). I absolutely love it! May 28, 2015 16:45:19 GMT -5
Red Hairdo: Years back I remember IIRC Mutagene was familiar with playing it online through actual PSPs + the usage of a custom firmware on one's own router (which might be legally-complicated). But it's possible. (And today, there may be better ways.) May 28, 2015 18:59:11 GMT -5
Red Hairdo: However, I played Ys vs. SnK multiplayer in person before, and its framerate dropped to barely-playable levels as WyrdWad mentioned. So, I wouldn't want to imagine how it'd work online, sadly. =| May 28, 2015 19:08:23 GMT -5
Red Hairdo: But! That's an issue I had before with most PSP games, so it's most likely a platform issue. ClaDun 2 even removed the option to play in multiplayer, as opposed to its predecessor. So in short, PSP multiplayer only works for non-dynamic games, such as FFT. May 28, 2015 19:10:01 GMT -5
Red Hairdo: Oh, hey, scroll down on this topic, and you'll see a method of playing PSP games online easily as long as you have a PS3 as well. :) http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/937312-final-fantasy-tactics-the-war-of-the-lions/71156502 May 28, 2015 19:12:11 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: Hmm apparently PPSSPP with some tweaking can adjust frame rate to levels higher than what was originally possible on a real PSP if your computer is fast enough. It may make it fairly playable still even with slowdown during online multiplayer. May 28, 2015 23:28:31 GMT -5
Truner: The thing is, the PSP was underclocked. If the competing PSPs were clocked to the maximum the PSP can handle, it'd probably solve the framerate issues. PPSSPP can overclock it and you can easily play online with stuff like Hamachi IIRC. May 29, 2015 1:44:29 GMT -5
