Shoutbox

Wyrdwad: So since we were just talking about this less than one Shoutbox page ago... have some Sailor Moon-style KISS transformation scenes from the newest Scooby movie, Scooby-Doo & KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery. Jul 25, 2015 2:46:11 GMT -5
Wyrdwad: It's exactly as ridiculous and badass a movie as this clip would lead you to believe. And features Scooby-Doo licking Gene Simmons, then Gene Simmons licking him back. As well as a new barbershop-style song called "Don't Touch My Ascot" performed by KISS. Jul 25, 2015 2:47:27 GMT -5
Gamemusicfreak: Wow! That's hardcore! Jul 25, 2015 3:51:23 GMT -5
Unsavory: All that's missing is the crew from Detroit Rock City. ;) Oh wait, this is a family cartoon. Any chance KISS does the classic Scooby theme? That looks so awesome!!! Jul 25, 2015 6:48:16 GMT -5 *
Wyrdwad: No, but they did contribute a lot of their biggest hits, including Detroit Rock City. And... this, which still amuses me to no end. ;) Jul 25, 2015 12:56:42 GMT -5
Unsavory: Taking time off from adding/altering additional features to Faxanadu. Celceta rocks! Jul 27, 2015 10:15:33 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: Unsavory, can you add in your own custom sprites to Faxanadu? I was thinking that if you did a Xanadu patch "putting the Xanadu back in" to Faxanadu we could change the last boss to King Dragon or something. Jul 27, 2015 22:05:21 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: Here is the version from the game compared to the Captain N version, a Dragon Wizard, which sadly looks cooler than the game's boss, a skull monster on stilts. : ) Jul 27, 2015 22:15:52 GMT -5 *
Wyrdwad: You could change the shopkeeper sprites, too, and bring back Buff Baker Dude. ;) Jul 27, 2015 22:16:35 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: Hehe, Faxanadu with good looking townsfolk... Sure would be different. Why buy meat from this guy when you can buy it from this guy? Jul 27, 2015 22:29:51 GMT -5 *
Unsavory: I always pictured the final boss (and Wolf Man) as Alien movie aliens. As far as a respriting goes... a *dragon* boss would make more sense if you have the *dragon* slayer. It's not an *alien* slayer. I liked Adoru's work, which is gone. Jul 28, 2015 7:01:55 GMT -5 *
Unsavory: Respriting would be entirely possible, and pretty cool. Get rid of Fieg's sun screen. Also, I'd like to have someone take another look at the bestiary and make sure every enemy has an English name (for Remix). Most of them have English Xanadu counterparts. Jul 28, 2015 7:46:57 GMT -5 *
SkyeWelse: There were some that I weren't sure how to Romanize, but maybe if I can find them mentioned in some of the other Xanadu lore/monster guides, I can suggest the new names or update the bestiary. Jul 28, 2015 13:49:57 GMT -5
Wyrdwad: A lot of Falcom enemy names seem like they mashed the keyboard until something pronounceable came up (Ys enemies often fall into this category), but sometimes, they also pull obscure creatures from world mythologies -- Azi Dahaka in Brandish, for example. Jul 28, 2015 14:33:23 GMT -5
Wyrdwad: When in doubt, Google the Japanese name and see if anything comes up that isn't from the game. If something does, then chances are it's taken from world mythology. Jul 28, 2015 14:34:35 GMT -5
Unsavory: Found this: http://dslabo.info/ds/kaisetu/ds2fmonst/index.html Look familiar? They cleaned up our bestiary, changed the text images to text, and edited some entries. Jul 29, 2015 10:40:31 GMT -5 *
SkyeWelse: Thanks Tom. With enough research and Googling pages of mythology, I'm sure we can get a good grasp of how to best spell the names. When it was put it together I didn't do much research, so it currently looks like this. Jul 29, 2015 17:39:04 GMT -5
SkyeWelse: Ah, I didn't see Unsavory's post. Yep, I sent that to Sho over at DragonSlayer Labs in case they were interested in using it for their site. Hmm, "EXECUTIONER'S FOOD" should probably be HOOD. Executioner also came from somewhere...? I don't remember. Jul 29, 2015 17:41:12 GMT -5 *
Unsavory: Xanadu enemy; Executioner's Food. I think we both came up with most of these enemy name translations straight from Xanadu. I really like what Sho did with the list. :) Jul 29, 2015 18:20:49 GMT -5 *
Unsavory: I wonder if he knows those are corrected (no pendant bug) stats. Jul 31, 2015 18:00:53 GMT -5
