Without finishing Inferno Mode?
I can't even defeat Galvaran on Nightmare Mode, and I've tried about 50 times... I struggled all the way thru nightmare and I have absolutly no faith I'd be able to finish the game on Inferno... I don't have asian blood!
But I really want to fight this secret boss...

Eh? รต.o Secret Boss in Felghana? I didn't even know such a Boss existed! Uhm, you said you must beat the game on Inferno Mode, which was within a patch from Falcom. So, this Boss must appear only if you installed the patches? ._.?

Yes correct... But i for one have no illusions that I'll be able to beat Inferno mode, hence my questions Ok...that doesn't explain how you unlocked Inferno mode in the first place, since you essentially have to beat the nightmare bossrush mode. Whatever, look at my video capture: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RjBa-Bgb9cOr use this strategy, which I use: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi8p3JqhcKIGalvaran isn't hard at all. Just study its attack patterns. Let me know if you need more help.

Unless I misunderstood, he didn't unlock Inferno. As he says, he can't complete Nightmare. He's just asking if there's another way to get to the hidden boss fights. As for that, I have no clue. I think I got through it on hard, and I may try a higher difficulty level in the future, but some of those fights even on hard just plain owned me. Good luck in your quest.

When the translation patch comes for public, I will start at hard, then make my way through Nightmare and Inferno without sparing time! : ) I definitely love difficult RPG Games. One of many reasons which makes me love Ys.

Anyway, completing gameplay in nightmare mode does nothing. You need to complete the nightmare bossrush in time attack mode AND subsequently beat the hidden boss (not the one mentioned here) in order to unlock Inferno mode.

So you fight both the Black Pikkard and Berhard back-to-back? Do you have to kill either one on the first try? Are they unlockable for Time Trial mode or must you complete it on nightmare every time you wish to challenge them? Berhard: You can have as many tries as you want, but he isn't selectable in the time attack mode. He isn't terribly difficult though. Players usually take about 2-3 hours to complete the nightmare bossrush, so just a heads up. Black Pikard: Same as above (first sentence).

Well, then, my hopes of beating your time have been dashed because that is pretty much the perfect strategy -ud

Well, then, my hopes of beating your time have been dashed because that is pretty much the perfect strategy -ud I can beat my own time (1 min. 30 sec, hard mode) through countless number of tries and methodical tactics, but at the moment work is pretty much my priority.

Hmm BlackBean, any advice on killing Chester 2? I've managed to work my way through and complete Nightmare, but I really want to play Insane mode so I guess somewhere along the line I'm going to have to do this Boss Rush, but... I can kill all the bosses eventually if I keep trying, except for the second Chester, who I am absolutely useless at fighting ;_;
I've watched a Youtube video which involves slashing him until he brings up his shield, then repelling with the fireball and jumping over his explosion. I can do that if I practice enough, I suppose, but when Chester boosts he's impossible :s

I made one for normal players 3 years ago. It was this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Htb4KpgYLkY

Berhard is Time Attack. Black Pikkard is fought after beating the game on Inferno (I forget if its before or after the credits).
