Eiyu Densetsu 6. Or Legend of Heroes 6. I don't know much about it other than that it's made by Falcom, and it probably won't make it out of Japan. None of the series has.

The Dragon slayer games are prequels to the Legend of heroes games. And yes, it is using the YsVI engine. The series isn't all that popular to Ys, and it will most likely never get out of japan. None of the ED games did. ED1 for the MSX got translated by Oasis though, a group of bad-english speaking japanese guys, who translated the MSX versions of YsI and II. Dragon slayer IV, a game from 1986, however, is the only game in the series that made it to the US, under a different name, however - Legacy of the wizard.
Edit: Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot. Legend of heroes 1 for the Turbo grafx was also released in the US.

Actually, Dragon Slayer Legend of Heroes is a part of 2 series. It's the 6th game in the Dragon Slayer series(which consists of 1-Dragon Slayer, 2-Xanadu, 3-Romancia, 4-Legacy of the Wizard, 5-Sorcerian, 6-Dragon Slayer LOH 1 & 2 together are #6, 7-Lord Monarch, 8-Legend of Xanadu, & 9-Legend of Xanadu 2 being the last game in that series), but is also the first game in the Legend of Heroes series(consisting of 1-Dragon Slayer Legend of Heroes, 2-Dragon Slayer Legend of Heroes 2, 3-Legend of Heroes The White Witch, 4-Legend of Heroes 4, 5-Legend of Heroes 5 which ends the Gargahv trilogy which is 3-5, & lastly Legend of Heroes 6). I don't know any subtitles in name for 4-6. And yes, the intersectioning(if that's a real word) of these 2 series is confusing, but, I've done alot of research over the years to figure it all out. I used to think that Faxanadu was Dragon Slayer 3, but later found out it's, if I remember correctly, a Gaiden(side story) from Xanadu(Dragon Slayer 2). And why Lord Monarch is Dragon Slayer 7, while Legend of Heroes 1 & 2 are together #6, is beyond me, but, that's what I've found.

Yes. Faxanadu IS a side story to Xanadu. Also, Dragon slayer IV is actually called Drasle family. Also, Dragon slayer JR: Romancia is #3. Which you wrote. It's a long series, but I like it.
Dragon slayer I was also released on Game boy. As well as a NEW Dragon slayer game called Dragon slayer II. This is NOT Xanadu, however....

I knew it was something with a family in it, but couldn't remember. Yaknow, I think I played or saw that Gameboy Dragon Slayer 2 you mentioned. That just sounds familiar for some reason.
