Anyway, Blackbean why do you say Ys Origin had bugs? It ran milky smooth on my rig, never had any crashes at all. It's programming related. Some Japanese websites have listed the bugs. A couple of them can potentially screw up the entire game. By the way, the bugs have absolutely nothing to do with graphics, which is primarily regulated by the video card and the motherboard chipset. Sora no Kiseki the 3rd: Seriously, half the time you would want to just skip the extraneous dialogues and get to the action. Kind of like a visual-novel game. >_<

Alright then, so can you explain to me why I can't install ED6 the 3rd on Vista Ultimate? I'm admin, I changed the locale to Japanese, I even tried to disable UAC. The manual even has a section on this problem, I tried their method but to no avail.
So what the hell is preventing me from installing games on Vista?? (All I know is that it has something to do with the Application Data folder in my user folder)
Meh at least XP works

Well I'd rather support Falcom then support Micro$hit. So erm u can guess how I got my Vista. Anyway I finally managed to get it working on Vista. Apparently it's the way Vista works that make things difficult to install. For anyone who reads this and has the same problems installing the game in Vista, here is how I did it: First go to the Start Menu, Right Click the Documents tab, and go to properties. Go to the Location tab, and Move all your documents to another directory (this directory you have to create yourself, doesn't matter what name or where ie. C:/Data). Once the move is done, all your documents will be in that folder (ie. C:/Data/yourusername/). Next you have to go out of that new documents folder and create C:/Data/Application Data/FALCOM.
Now reinstall the game and it should work. The reason why this happens is because Vista no longer has the Application Data folder. It is now replaced by a junction called AppData. The game installer will be unable to create the Application Data/Falcom folder because AppData keeps on referring the installer to another place, thus giving the installer an error.
At least this is what I believed happened. I should also note that there are other Vista users who can install the game without problems. However the installer is still unable to create program menus and desktop shortcuts so I had to manually do those. Only thing the installer did right is to put ED6 3rd into the Vista Games folder and I can see it there.
More reason to hate Vista |

Well, to tell the truth, I'm enjoying the game regardless of what I read about it. I just love the new nun character. Story wise it's still interesting. It's like playing the first 2 games but minus the country travelling. So that aspect of rpg is gone but the rest is still around. You still get to move your characters around in dungeons. Although I'll probably get sick of fighting battle after battle, but for the story I guess it's ok. PS There's some mention of another world so it's getting very similar to the Garghav Trilogy. This could be further explored in Legend of Heroes 7.

I finished the game including all the side quests. For sure, I can say the dungeon crawling was excruciatingly tedious.

I'm halfway thru the game now. And I'm enjoying it. I love it when I can restore CP to max most of the times. Good way to increase levels quickly. Especially when you know where to find those little white fluffy things with halos that give huge amounts of experience and Septiums.

In that case, this game shouldn't qualify as "the 3rd". Rather, it is a side story.
The difficulty of the game is too easy and definitely not challenging. Most of the battles involved are just mindless clicking. Many players have found a loophole regarding Tita's Orbal Gear.
Levelling up: This is only essential near the end of the game . Most of the time, I just zip right to the boss or subboss.
I don't think you should be proud of a game whereby the Falcom staff didn't spend too much time and effort on the game. Many 3D models and 2D sprites were recycled. I am speculating this game totals to no more than three months of work. That's just my opinion, though.
I anticipate "Legends of the Heroes VII" to be much better, so we'll see what happens.

Mindless clicking? Meh, that sucks.
Ever since Falcom incorporated gamepad integration into their games, I've been using my trusty Logitech gamepad to play them. You should never use mouse and keyboard for playing RPGs.
I can see why it's frustrating, since you've been using the mouse.
IMO, mouse and keyboard should only be used for FPS, realtime strategy and american style rpgs (and japanese avg style games). Gamepads should be used for console style Japanese RPG.
Anyway, I think there's a reason why they named it "The Third" and not "TC" or "Third Chapter" or "Final Chapter". Makes sense for a "side game" doesn't it? I think you've set your expectations too high for the game, just to be disappointed. Furthermore the plot is right after SC, if Falcom took any longer to release, I bet pple will just complain anyways, with stuff like "What? I waited so long just for this? Where's LoH 7? And what's with the graphics? Shouldn't they be using directx 10 by now?"
Me, I'm just pleasantly surprised by it's sudden release. And don't forget the world's been thrown back by Vista, and the fact that Falcom -a Japanese company- actually bothered to rebrand and market all their older games as Vista-compatible.
Of course I'm not expecting that they use directx 10 in their next games... but I will be impressed if they do.
My motto is that if you are a fan of something, just accept it for what it is, and not find faults just for the sake to be disappointed. Makes your life easier that way. (Unless it sucks to the point of no return)
Oh well, to each his own. Fact is, I'm enjoying it and you don't, so who's better off?

Cool wyrdwad. Hope you enjoy it I sound harsh huh. Hmm, perhaps my handling of the language isn't good enough, you know, being Asian and all that. Just trying to be frank, but somehow I do get remarks like that other times too. Actually I'm not blaming Blackbean for dissing it. But I find that the rise of complainers and critics are increasing exponentially with the rise of information technology (ie WWW). So you see stuff like this everywhere now in forums, with all the yea-sayers and nay-sayers fueling online flaming and trolling. What ever happened to the good old days of enjoying good old fashioned RPGs without pple around you bitching about them?? Unfortunately I'm only human and so I won't deny not being part of all these at some point of time. Oh well, we got to go with the flow, keep up with times, etc. Anyway back to point, there are quite a few Japanese disappointed in this game. I don't blame them, some Japanese can be pretty weird. Especially the hardcore ones. They think themselves gods of rpgs and nitpick at every detail they can find. Oh well, same thing applies to the whole world I guess. In the meantime, I'll just drag myself through my boring work, and go home whip up some LoH goodness.

Good points musa.Much respect to you *kowtow*m(_ _)mI suspect whether you are really Asian,'cause you have a good command in English.= =+*Edit:I mean you really sounds like a native speaker.* I've finished FC and played a little bit SC of Japanese version.Pity that I can't read Japanese so I just guess the plot according to the kanji's in the dialogues. Still waiting for the release of Chinese version...TT__TT Just now saw someone saying that the LOGO of 3rd is not designed by Falcom itself but Zen Corporation(株式會社 禪) www.z-e-n.co.jp/LOGOs etc of some other Falcom products are also designed by This corporation. XD

Mindless clicking? Meh, that sucks. Specifically, clicking on the red circle to activate a character's S-craft on the fly. The loophole goes on as long as the characters are equipped with this specific accessory. Keyboard/mouse has some advantages over gamepads. I have uploaded my Ys Origin gameplay videos in youtube to prove my point. Mostly keyboard. That's not the frustrating part. There is virtually no strategy in this game. Example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzqMVUbW7fgOkay... The problem is that Falcom reused most of the models from previous games --- this is an indication of their laziness and lackadaisical effort. I'm not expecting Falcom to improve their graphics unless they bought an improved graphics engine. I'd be satisfied if Falcom reduced the price of the SNK the 3rd game. Yet it is overpriced for this type of game. Risky move. I believe they bought the graphics engine from a company, so they don't have the power to improve the engine. This is obvious if you have played the games. I bought the game with my own money, so I have the right to be disappointed. Are you sure? I've been uploading a bunch of videos in youtube. That's an indication that I'm enjoying the Falcom games more than you. Think about it, I even took the time to re-record my gameplays if I thought I could have done better. Alphelia: Your comment is racist. Please refrain from saying that especially if you emphasized your comment in purple.

Alphelia: Your comment is racist. Please refrain from saying that especially if you emphasized your comment in purple. Okay then I've modified that.Must say I MEANT NOT to be racist 'cause I'm also Asian. Why I'm saying that is because as an Asian I know how difficult it is to master a foreign language for a native-born Asian。Besides I don't use color to emphasize anything,it's just my way of express my thoughts. Well anyway THANKS for pointing it out.Hope the complement will make it better.

Whoa Whoa. Blackbean dude, no need to get so uptight man. Do you have to reply to everything single sentence I said? I said "to each his own" So chill man. Since you seem like the type to be easily indignant, I believe you won't be satisfied till I say something so here are my "snide" comments to yours. Believe me, I hate doing things like these, in fact I'm never good at rebuttals so this will be my last. You can prove your point again and again but this.will.be.my.last. Anything else will be to other people's comments or yours if you decide to laugh and let it go. Specifically, clicking on the red circle to activate a character's S-craft on the fly. The loophole goes on as long as the characters are equipped with this specific accessory. Hmm, so there's some kind of accessory that gives them unlimited CP? Cool. Because clicking on the red circle whenever I need it gets to save my ass when I'm in a pinch. It's about time they made the characters become invincible after all that fighting in 2 stories. True, I do not deny that. But I'm entitled to my opinions. And no I don't need to watch your videos, I can very well play my own game thank you. Right... so when did this become a Strategy RPG? The first 2 games didn't exactly require much strategy either. It's not like you're playing the Megami Tensei series... now those games are whacked. You're referring to a Japanese company in a country that disses Micro$oft. Have you ever thought about how the gaming industry works in Japan? Everyone there is going gaa gaa over console programming for the past 20 years. AFAIK, Falcom is the only NON-ADULT PC gaming company that actually spent time to implement *decent* 3D graphics on Windows. Seriously what other Japanese can you introduce to me that does the same like Falcom? And don't give me companies that make Erotic games. God knows the Japanese PC market is saturated to the point of puking with such. Also, stuff like marketing trends and budget concerns influence their decision in games. You have to give them credit for staying afloat in such a small market. And this game is is selling for under 8000 yen. Do you know how much erotic games cost? 8800yen is the norm! For what? A bunch of text and a bunch of erotic 2D pictures! How is a 3D PC Japanese game overpriced?? I bought the game with my own money as well, so I have the right to be satisfied with it and not listen to you whine about it and affect my mood. I said THIS game, not Falcom games in general. When did I ever talk about the other games? Why bring in Ys games? Have you not been reading when I was "waxing lyrical" over THIS game all this while?? And again, no need to brag about your inane ability to upload videos on youtube. I own no video cameras, nor do I know how to use video capturing programs, so no need to make me feel incapable. Dude, I have been talking to Alphelia for some time now, so we got an understanding with each other already. In case you didn't know (well maybe others as well), I am Asian, I live in a multiracial society and I am of Chinese origins. Oh and I like to keep my birthplace a secret... you know, some pple like to have some kind of mystery around them to feel special or something.... Anyway, I am not bothered by Aphelia's comments because we both know we are Asians and her comments were directed AT ME. Again, why drag in others into your arguments?? And finally, thank you Blackbean for entertaining me in my boring hours of work. You can take my comments with a large pinch of salt because it is not my nature to argue with others. I only give comments. If you somehow get pissed and decide to bring this to the next level, please leave me out of it. I'm done here. And the Mods will come down on the both of us like Fires from the Heavens. I've had my fill of one soap opera in a certain thread, I don't want to start another here. Alphelia: Don't take his comments too hard okay? He doesn't know about us, so forgive the dude. And as to how my English ability came about, growing up watching American sitcoms, cartoons and Hollywood movies helped a little. I wasn't that comfortable with Chinese when I was young but reading Taiwanese comics helped me a little. If you must know, I can read the Jin Yong martial arts novels but with the help of the Chinese dictionary 30% of the time. Wyrdwad: Hey man, thanks for agreeing with my opinions on the game . But let's give the guy a break. Whew, we have got to chill out.

After you kill all the black knights in all the buildings, you have to kill all the black knights walking around outside. It's obvious you did not kill all of the black knights outside. One of them may be walking behind trees.
