I am looking for any PC version of Ys games, besides Ys- Oath in Felghana, which I got.
Please offer anything, standard edition, limited edition, floppy, CD, DVD...no matter what. Here or in a message...
Cheers, Chris

I've got a spare YsII for MSX2 (complete) and possibly a spare YsIII for X68000 (also complete). I'm not sure if I want to part with them -- but if the price is right. Let me know if you're interested. I can post pics too.

Excuse me, Seldane, if I lack knowledge here...but maybe I am a bit too young, even if aged 25 since last week. I do not know what MSX and X68000 is...? I grew up with the NES and my first PC was a 386...I know of the 68000, being a processor in many consoles like Mega Drive (Genesis)...but what are those versions you offer for?
I am just looking for the PC Versions (Dos or Windows)...even pictures of the packages would be a start for me;-) I guess those are rare and expensive, aren´t they?
As I mentioned somewhere else, I only have console versions of Ys (for my SNES and Turbo Duo) also Ys-VII for PC...

The X68000 and MSX2 are Japanese home computers from the 80's. Most Falcom games (and most other old Japanese series such as Castlevania, Metal Gear, etc.) originated on those computers (among others). These pictures will show you how YsII for MSX2 and YsIII for X68000 looks like. I don't think I'll sell them, but I do enjoy taking pictures of games. Boxes Ys II inside Ys III inside

If you want recent versions of Ys on PC, you could try ordering them directly from Falcom.

I know, thus I came to Felghana...but especially the elder things are no longer available there...and Ebay isn´t a big source looking for original Ys PC games...as far as I experienced last months...

Didnt Ys Complete Works come with Ys I + II Complete? I dont know if that was just for a limited time or if they still sell the two together...
If thats how it is, maybe just buy Ys I & II Complete from Falcom and you'll get the first 5 (6?) games in the series too. Although, I dont think you'll be able to play those in english...

Wasn´t there a version of Ys V (the game known from SNES, Kefin- The lost city of Sand) for Windows, too?
Recently a friend of mine, knowing my fave for RPGs and Action- Adventures came (I told him about Ys before) and told me he got the PC Version of this game.
Well, I took his CD and installed the game - the same Setup- feature like it is with Ys- Oath in Felghana, I mean no pirate version or something like that.
It´s exactly the game known from the SNES. I gave it a play recently...so one could assume Ys V has also been released in some forgotten time by Falcom.
It´s really a version from Falcom itself...doesn´t look like a conversion or third party thing...I got it here and it works!?!
What do you think of that? Did you hear something like that before?

Yeah, Ys V for PC is not by Falcom. It's one of Project EGG's emulated games. There are several Ys games emulated for PC using project EGG's emulators.
The other emulated Ys games are pay & download only -- they do not come with boxes/cd cases, etc.
Ys V could not be bought seperately, it only came with the limited edition of Tsukikage no Destiny (or another game, I don't remember).
Ys COMPLETE WORKS ONLY comes with the limited edition of Ys VI and Ys VI Collector's Pack. It is not included with YsI-II COMPLETE.

If you're friend had Ys V on PC, then it was probably from Ys Complete Works collection. Besides being in that collection, the only other way you can play Ys V is on the SNES. edit: heh, beat me to it by a minute, seldane bleh, u gave a better answer anyways lot of ppl online right now

Thanks for your prompt answers...to me, some things just are like a "jungle", which I before only knew from some game titles of the Neo Geo...but there piracy and conversions meanwhile are a big and bad topic, especially looking to Metal Slug 1.
Is there still the possibility to get the "Complete Works" via Falcom directly? I didn´t find it at Himeya and I had some problems recently as for the japanese language on Falcom´s site...
By the way, it´s just great to have you people all around, answering and thus helping me (and others I guess) immedeately, trying to get some grasp into the jungle and enlarge different horizons...
I mean nevertheless there is also a different way of "typing" the english lanuage here, many of you will or have already shaked your heads looking at my style...you know it is some six years ago since I left school with my last english lessons;-)
So thanks for being like you behave! I only know such "kindness" and normality from another german forum - where like it is here - the virtual world seems to keep human, and "real" values...
Chapeau!

The only way to get Ys COMPLETE WORKS is to buy either Ys VI Limited Edition or Ys VI Collector's Pack. You can buy Ys VI Limited Edition at www.gameswave.com (in France). Or you could buy it at Yahoo Japan (that's the cheapest way - I bought it there for about $20 - and I got the music CD Songs of Zemeth and another game with that). Let me tell you though -- Ys COMPLETE WORKS isn't very interesting. Just a regular cd in a regular cd case with YsI-III (PC-8801 versions) and YsIV-V (SFC versions). Thanks for the kind words.

I visited Gameswave and also payed a visit to Amazon.jp Now I saw those different versions of Ys VI that you mentioned (Lim. Ed. and Collector´s Pack). I found the collector´s pack here : www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/503-1575311-6983101It is just about the same price that I found for the Limited Edition on Gameswave. Both are used, and both are about 69 €. So you mentioned that in both L.E. and C.P., the Complete Works is included. My questions: What is the difference? Which version is more adorable for me as a "lover", looking at package design, manual...? Are they including anything else? Could you give me some pictures of those two versions (if you got them) ? Next point: I don´t understand a single word on amazon.jp. I know that is a used version by a private person(the Collector´s Pack seen via the link), but I do not know if sending to Europe is possible, neither do I know how much shipping in case would be (which I assume to be high). The Limited Edition would be the same price, but in France, so shipping would be cheap to Germany. I hope for your hints (Seldane, I guess you will answer, at least I hope so...). Second topic right now that´s confusing me: Here I found some different Windows/PC versions of Ys 1 and 2...all the covers look different. www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/503-1575311-6983101 What is all the difference between Ys Eternal/ Complete CDRom/DVD/XP...I mean looking at the scans (even if they are small), there are also differences in the package design... I hope you could also solve this miracle for me;-) Maybe with some pictures, too... Seldane, I hope I am not asking too much...I just need some "grasp"... Chris

First of all. Forget Amazon.jp. They'll only send music cds and books abroad. Buying games is not possible. Ys VI Collector's Pack contains all the stuff from Ys VI Limited Edition and all the Ys stuff from Falcom Special Box. Namely the following: - YsVI Game Disc (DVD)*
- YsVI Original Soundtrack (2x music cd)
- YsVI Material Collection (artwork, etc from the game)
- YsVI Movie Collection (a crappy dvd with all the videos fram the game including many The Legend of Xanadu videos)
- Ys COMPLETE WORKS*
- Ys Special Collection -All About Falcom- (DVD)*
*Also in YsVI Limited Edition Collector's Pack has a bigger box, but is also a lot more expensive than Limited Edition. The only way to get Collector's Pack is through Yahoo Japan, and that will get expensive. Personally, I think LE has the nicest box of 'em all. Ys I/II COMPLETE has been re-released a couple of times. These are all the releases: - YsI-II COMPLETE Limited Edition (a book-shaped box in a gold sleeve. This contains both games and some bonuses)
- YsI/II COMPLETE XP version (the most common releases. The first seperate releases and with very nice manuals)
- YsI/II COMPLETE 2005 version (the newer re-release of the seperate games. Overall very cheap quality compared to the XP releases)
- YsI-II COMPLETE 2005 combo version (the latest [and only available] releases of YsI/II COMPLETE. They both come in one box with a manual)
Here, I got you some photos of the Limited Edition: ....And the Collector's Pack: Hope that gave you the "grasp" you needed.

Thank you for your explanations. It surely gave me the grasp I intended to gain with your help!
I am going to buy the Limited Edition at Gameswave. For the Collector´s Pack: I will need it, too...it´s just my love for special games and series, to get everything...I will have to be patient, so I hope for a chance to get the Collector´s Pack once.
Looking at Ys 1 and 2, I am goint to look for YsI-II COMPLETE Limited Edition, which you described. It sounds great, so I have to be patient and searching here, too...
Thank you. Chris.

Go to himeyashop,
They finally have the combined version for sale, and at a reasonable price too.

Well, at Himeya, they sell each one (Ys Complete 1 or 2) for about 69 USD. I don´t know if that´s a good deal...but I guess it could be cheaper elsewhere, couldn´t it?
With the Falcom homepage, I just have my problems, as for the japanese language...I hope there is a way to get in contact with them in english...
Meanwhile I keep looking on Ebay...
