I have a theory about YsIII that seems very logical to me.
As many of you know, the Ys timeline is like this:
YsI YsII YsIV (Mask of the Sun) YsV YsVI
But when does YsIII take place?
Ys Eternal mentions Adol's adventures in this order:
"The five huge dragons in Artago" (this has yet to be a game)
"Celceta the sea of trees" (YsIV)
"Kefin the city of sand" (YsV)
YsVI is a direct sequel to YsV, and here's my theory:
Falcom is making a new Ys game (Ys: The Oath in Felghana), and that's a remake of YsIII. Why are they doing it now? Maybe because it's the SEQUEL to YsVI - i.e. it happens right after YsVI. That would explain YsIII's position in the Ys timeline. Therefore, it could be like this:
YsI YsII "The five huge dragons in Artago" YsIV (Mask of the Sun) YsV YsVI YsIII

Isnt the "Dawn of Ys" somewhere in the timeline as well. I know its not the same as "Mask of the Sun".? Doesnt Ys III take place after Ys II. The reason I say this is because it has a opening scene with lilia waving goodbye. It seems to be a continuation after the events of Ys II.
