Is the japanese version any better?

I played through the duo Ys III, and then promptly re sold it. It did not impress me at all, the voice acting and intro were nonsense(they said that adol was this blond guy in the intro, and he was fighting centuries ago, or something) At least I sold it on ebay and got more than what I paid...

Voice acting is far better in the japanese version, but I can't tell you if the meaning is different...

Yes... There are *Slight* differences when it comes to translation... specially about the Locations.

Otherwise, the Ys III Japanese Voice Acting is supreme, if compared to the Voice acting found on the American Ys III.

I exchanged my japanese version for a US one when it first came out, and still regret it!!!

I read somewhere that that blonde guy was supposed to be a legendary warrior from centuries ago that originally defeated and imprisoned Demanicus (maybe from the Japanese translation). And Adol is supposed to be his descendant. Or something like that...?

I still have my Ys 3, they deffinitly do not say Adol is the blond guy, he's just a warrior that defeated Demanicus centuries ago. As for the VA'ing, I find it hilarious at points "Think back to your worst nightmare" & ok at other points. It doesn't bother me one bit. What does bother me, is in Mega Man X7, X's VA'ing is incredibly horrible, even compared to Ys 3, Last Alert, or Valis 3.
