Ok In Ys III For The PC-Engine
I Cannot Tell What The Name Of The King Of Valastine Castle Is. Now In The Game Manual Is Says. It Is King McGaia. But Within The Game It's Clearly Saying King McGuire.
This Has Been Bugging me for awhile now I just want to know what his name is!

In game his name is McGuire. It's on screen when Adol says his name. The names in this version and the Genesis version are mostly the same, and it is McGaya in the Genesis version. So my guess is that was supposed to be his name, when they made the manuals, then it was a last minute change. But there is no question as to what is being said in game.

That's understandable, but it's also why they should look at translations from an English point of view, and not just directly translate things. In English McGuire is an actual name, while McGaya just feels awkward to say.
I think Deuces old sig said something like the only bad translation is a direct one, and I tend to agree.

We can't forget Galbalan/Demanicus, Tigre Mines/Tigray Quarry, and Valestine/Ballacetine Castle.
