Yesterday I confessed to never playing the first game in the series and I decided to do something to remedy that situation. I sat down after dinner to play the game, and now, at 3:43 AM I have just defeated the final boss. Ys Eternal is an AWESOME game. What an experience! I truly haven't sat through an entire game in one sitting....I don't think EVER! I can't believe I never played this game. I also can't believe hundreds of video game fanatics haven't experienced this game either. The sense of adventure and purpose thoughout this game is like a heavy metal drummer's double kick pedal. However, I do have a question for those of you that have finished the Windows Ys Eternal remake of the game. I don't know if this is relevant but there may be possible spoilers at this point....
I had no idea that I was walking into the room of the final boss, when I walked into the room of the final boss XD, and hurredly skipped through the dialogue to go back and save my game, equip different items etc. When I re-loaded my game, and even rebeat the previous boss from an eariler save, it never let me view the dialogue between Dark Fact and Adol again. I was somewhat pissed, having missed this key moment. Does anyone have the dialogue spoken between them? I was using Nightwolve's updated patch for the game if that helps at all. I know kind of what was said, but I'd like to see it verbatim after trudging through the game.
Either way, great game, but for now, I need some sleep.

Thanks a ton, Deuce. Once again, you've responded at lightspeed to one of my 1,000's of Ys related issues without fail. Digging that up is well worth an extra Karma point my friend.

And right now, I'm a Ys nut too I think, I need a PSP so I can play Ys 6, seems like a nifty game for a portable console, perfect on the go and all

I beat it yesterday! Allthough I couldnt beat it on hard mode. Those two heads are just wicked, so i started over on easy lol and beat in in about 3 hrs or so. Only gripe i have about the end is that it doesnt show Adol shooting out of the top of Darms tower. Owell still i love the game and am now playing it on Normal mode. I would say you have to be one skill Player to beat it on nightmare. hehe i dont even want to think how hard the two heads are on that mode

The Darm Tower really surprised me at first and still never stops amazing me. It's one hell of a dungeon with a concept that I think is unique only to Ys. I mean where else do you find a dungeon so big that it takes up half the entire playing time to beat!!? Besides that, the background music (Tower of Shadow and Death along with the other tunes played in the later parts) really made me go "I'm gonna kick some Darm Tower butt!!!" EVERYTIME!!!

To be fair, Darm Tower is only so long because the entire game is so short. I mean, really, there's three dungeons in the entire game. Of course the final one is going to be incredibly long.

Actually, I disagree. I think Darm Tower is a lot bigger than it's said to be. Sure, there are many floors, but let's face it - those floors aren't big. Most of the playtime is while walking BETWEEN the actual floors. I think Salmon Shrine in Ys II feels longer.

Salmon Shrine is pretty huge, definitely... I honestly thought Tuna Shrine felt much bigger.

I noticed a big discussion about huge final dungeon areas and had to mention the tower in Legend of Xanadu. Thirty floors of pure puzzle-solving fake treasure chest hell. I will keep plugging this game until Seldane plays it. (What are you waiting for?) I agree, the Lord of the Rings books are simply the best, it's like playing a role playing game when you read them.
