I decided to play the translation again recently but the music does not seem as rockin as it did the first time I played it, it all seems midi based... I am not running the game with the cd in drive right now and was wondering if it plays cd quality audio off the cd when you have it in the drive?? I seem to remember when I played it a couple years ago it did not sound like MIDI, which is does now.. Can anyone confirm this?? Thanks!

Ah, it's all coming back to me now! Well, for Ys Eternal, that is.
The CD has redbook audio so you're right -- it plays directly from the CD as long as you set it to play the BGM from it. (Guh, at least, the Chinese version was.) I can't recall Ys I.II Complete very well though.
If you already figured it out, then ignore this post. :D

Actually the audio files in Ys COMPLETE are seperate Wave files, you get to choose whether or not to install them, and if you didn't - just copy the wave_22 or wave_44 folder from the CD-ROM. Then go to the settings screen and choose WAVE instead of MIDI in the music field. Done. :)
