I'm using my keyboard and mouse and I can't get the precision I need . Any helpful hints on how to beat this guy?
Are you supposed to follow the balls around? I try to hang at the bottom and dart up quickly but I rarely not touch one of the balls so by the time he's halfway I'm about dead.
Why did I pick hard mode...lol
It might be time to buy a controller...

I beat him on Nightmare mode with keyboard, using pretty much the same method. Hang at the bottom of the screen and try to get two or three hits in every time you dart up when he reaches the middle of the screen. It is possible to get in and out untouched at first, but becomes harder you hit him.

Oh dear. This is the most gruesome (as in insanely difficult) boss I have ever encountered in any game. Perhaps I am too old and have lost my eye to hand coordination skill? I can hurt it for about a seventh or a sixth of its HP.
I have tried following one of the heads around the screen (inside of the whirling balls of fire and ice) but it is impossible to keep up with the heads' smooth movement for any length of time. The darting up from bottom of screen thing works better, but still it is almost impossible not to get hit by the whirling balls, and the boss simply hit for too much.
I have the silver sword, battle armour and battle shield, but I might as well be wearing paper.
Surely there must be a trick to this, a trick that is not close to impossible to pull off?

Use the Flame Sword.
Found in the floor before the 2nd mirror maze floor.

Ah, ofcourse, there was a room behind that wall which the mobs bursted out off. I was too busy running away from them to notice. Thanks, the sword made all the difference.
