I wasn't really dissapointed with Ys I or II...but then I managed to get ahold of Ys III and didn't like it at all. I probably wouldn't mind a remake of it...but it was just a horrible direction to take the Ys series.

That's a fun fact. Take it home and chew it.
I'm not really a big fan of Debug Mode on any game....kind of gets annoying.

I really liked playing Ys I for PS2 (I hope we can talk about the PS2 ports ._.) but it seemed kinda short compared to Ys II, haha. Especially because of the Solomon Shrine. The control room was so simple to find, but yet..*shakes his head* so..hard..~_~....hahahaha. Well..all in all, I don't believe Ys II was disappointing at all. I really liked being able to use magic, hehe. Just like anime XD. My honest opinions are these: Ys I: Probably my favorite Ys II: Good soundtrack, comes in second Ys III: I got tired of that same town tune when I was side-scrolling like I was in some Zelda game, lol. But over all, it was a very fun, but yet..short game, lol. Ys IV: If you want disappointing, then do what I did and import Mask of the Sun for PS2. Get out of the first dungeon and never pick it back up again to play. Now I'm stuck in the same boat as Seldane-san -.-'. Now I understand what he meant when he said it's been collecting dust

I recommend finising the PS2 Mask of the Sun, don't let it go to waste, there's some pretty neat dungeons at the end. I wasn't in love with the game myself, but I still liked it enough to finish it. Even more so at the end.

i would have to agree with gamemusicfreak. Im about half way in the game and the difficulty and the MUSIC has kept me going. Its a really good game as long as you stay open minded. I mean..if you can play dawn of the Ys then you can play this!

Hmmmm...I might have to pick it back up then, haha. I still haven't beat it..and if they re-release Ys V for PS2, then I suppose I will have to beat it anyways in order to continue. I just got really irritated from the ice dungeon >.<. *grumbles* Stupid mages...ahem..anyways. But yeah...I'll probably actually pick it back up then. But I still probably won't find it NEAR as fun as Ys I and II: Eternal Story was >_>;

There is a worse dungeon than the ice one ...thats for sure! The one where you have to light the room up is just TERRIBLE! But after that dungeon it got fun.

I just finished Ys II Complete, and I have to say I loved almost every minute of it. The Solomon Shrine was a bit of a brainache but most of the time I spent wandering around aimlessly because I hadn't thought properly about what I was supposed to be doing. I came this >< close to mapping the thing Maybe I still will! But yeah, overall a great game - definitely one of the highlights of the year for me in gaming. Now I can settle into OiF properly
