What is this really for? I went through Ys I & II complete again and just noticed this. Does it do anything other than the car ornament thing?

You can grab it with the mouse and spin it around. Decent fun... for five seconds.

Dark Fact gave me so much trouble in Ys 1 I enjoyed having his mascot hanging on my screen as a trophy. ^^

Whoo!! A thread that rose from the grave!!
What I loved most about the mascots was the way to get them! I used to do runs into the fields outside of Lance Village just to get apples to hand to various villagers. XD I actually spent over hours doing this (since I was grinding at the ruins to level up anyway). :B
Later on, I spent MORE time at Lamia and fed cranberries(?) to everyone to get their mascots! :D
I ignored Burnbless though. :3

That's strange. I always had them all from the beginning. I think. At least I definitely never did any of that apple stuff, and I had plenty of mascots anyway. Neither of which I used.

Hey, unintentional cheater, in that case! In fact, it has always been like that for me, every time I've tried it. Perhaps my Ys 2 is hacked some way? I always use an iso for it, which I downloaded before my actual game arrived. I've never actually used the real cd for it. Maybe it would work differently if I did.

Now that you mentioned it, I never noticed one could unlock mascots. I never bothered to use them though. I will test. Also, dunno, perhaps all of them are unlocked when using NW's patch for whatever reason. Afterall i.e. Boss Rush is unlocked by using his patch. Maybe he did something to the mascots too? Test. Will I.

I hope a bump for this thread is OK.
Anyway, I wanted to ask, does anyone know how to unlock the mascots for Priests Dabbie, Mesa, and Gemma? A while back in the spam thread, there was a little discussion about it, and someone (Nunuu?) mentioned that you need to talk to them a certain number of times to unlock them. While this seems to have worked for Priests Hadal, Tovah, and Fact, it doesn't seem to work for the others.
Does anyone know why this isn't working? Are the requirements for these mascots actually something else? I've tried restarting the game on Nightmare (I've been playing on Easy lately), but still nothing. Beating the game doesn't seem to unlock them either (in Chronicles, I unlocked the other three before beating the game once, so I don't think that's a factor).
EDIT: Well, that's weird. I tried again just now in Chronicles, and suddenly I received the other three priest mascots by talking to them a few times. What's weird is that I'm also trying it in Complete, but can only seem to get Fact's mascot. Very strange...
EDIT 2: According to a user on GameFAQs, it seems the actual requirement for the priest mascots is to be healed 5 times (you have to actually be at less than your current max HP). I've tested it in Complete, and it seems to work.
