Then why did EGM and 1up have a December release? I see 1up says spring now, but I was confused for a bit.

Ys VI for PS2 is still planned for 1st quarter of 2005, but it may be subject to change. last June orso it was already known that Ys VI wouldn't come out for PS2 in 2004...
those are USA release dates, Europe is still unkown...

EBgames.com is one of the more reliable sites for dates. Ofcoarse, I'm ticked off since I can't find Far East of Eden on their site anymore, is was supposed to come out March 8th

What do you mean "Europe"? There aren't even any plans to release it in Europe. It'll probably not be released in Europe.

Not that I'd get my hopes up, due to all the conflicting rumors running around about this game...but various press releases that I've read about it seem to indicate that the February release will be an international release.

Yes I know. It's a misuse of the word international. It's not coming to Europe. At least, there are no release dates or anything. Nothing has been said about it and you can order the US game here in Sweden (import, that is). I'm pretty sure it's not coming to Europe, and if it is, it won't be in February.

if we (Europeans) want Ys on PS2, we need to get our PS2 modded Or use an imported PS2, or a swap disc (which works great with the new PS two). But a chip is good nevertheless (you can play DVDs from all regions, for example).

Konami is sure taking their sweet time translating this game. Let's just hope all the time they will take will be worth it. If this game is marketed right, it can be semi-popular. Maybe we'd get 4 and 5?

It could be worse... it could be a rush job which I dont think any of us would want that happen to Ys6

Konami Japan's Ys website mentions something about March 10, 2005. www.konami.jp/Ys-napishtim/index.htmlI don't mind them pushing it back as long as they are making it better, though I guess it depends on what they consider making it better. I'm already upset with the new soundtrack, although I'll still be getting it when it comes out. They might also have changed the release date so they wouldn't have as much competition. I can't think of any big games off hand that are scheduled to come out late February. This release is a BIG event for Ys, of course. The series' future fate in the international market will be decided on how well this game sells. This game needs to be released at just the right moment. It looks like Final Fantasy XII has been pushed back to mid-spring, so unless Konami pushes the release back further, they shouldn't have to worry about competing with that behemoth.
