I've been looking for an RPG like this for a long time.

When this gen is all said and done, this game maybe my favorite RPG.

I've been really dissapointed with the RPGs this gen.

Just beat it on hard mode. Unfortunately I reset the game at the end screen, thinking that it would automatically save my game clear!

Appearantly I must defeat the stupid napishtim core all over again. Fighting Ernst is always a treat though, so no biggie.

Then... on to Nightmare!

I beat it finally...... the last bosses are amazing....very HARD ....however I started on hard mode......nighmare must be just that, a nightmare.

This game definitely deserves a 9 , I dont care what anyone else says.

I'm still playing, and I agree it is addictive. I mean, Final Fantasy series are becoming kinda repetitive, and the battle system...Argh! push push push, and I win. It is not as challenging as this game is.

I'm the crazy with this great ethenic rpg classic stylish game

the gameplay gives u the old chills , the music is cool too , although i find the previous parts of Ys music better , is it just me or the music sound better and more clear with the effects on the pc rom ?

It's not your imagination; the PC Engine games used redbook audio (plays directly off the CD, you can even pop the game disk into a CD player and listen to the music off it; just skip the data tracks!), while Ys 6's music is streaming from the PS2's soundchip, which while formidible, is no match for CD audio.

But yeah, Ys 6 owns. It's the best new RPG since Skies of Arcadia. Not as cool as Ys 1+2 or Ys 4 so far, but still one of the greatest games of this hardware generation without question..
