Ok, I finally sat down & beat Ys, & I loved the voice acting, and, guess nobody noticed, but, it was voiced by the same people who voiced Suikoden 4, not to mention countless anime & Transformers! I knew I recognized some of the voices! The guy with the bad lisp totally sounded like Rattrap.....with a lisp, not to mention I think I heard the same actor(Scott McNeil) also do his Jetfire voice, but there was also Paul & Mike Dobson, Terry Klassan, & others that I'm not AS familiar with. If you hate the voice acting in this, you must hate dubbing in anime, that's all I can say(& I know there are quite a few people like that). This is not to insult anybody, it's just a revelation to me that they got proffesional VA's for Ys, actually, there's even a connection between the VA's of this Ys, & that of Ys 1 & 2, since some of these are in newer Transformers shows, while some of the ones from 1 & 2 we're in G1(the original Transformers show, for those too young). Wow, I gotta ask Scott about his work on this & Suikoden 4 if I ever get to go to OTFCC(Official Trans Formers Collector Convention) or an anime convention. Hmm, I want to write down who did what next time I beat it, I wanna know who did Raba, he did an excellent job. I'm an amateur VA myself, so, this is all interesting to me! --- It's not a DOLL man, it's uh ACTION figure!

The voice acting wasnt all that bad.....what is amazing is the worst acting, being Tera is the same character as the best acting which is Crevia, IMO.

The opening CG had awful voice acting, but throughout the game I thought it was fine. I probably would've been happy with anything though, this being the first official translation in over a decade.

Terra is one that, atleast at first, I had a hard time swallowing, but, maybe she's supposed to be annoying like that. I never played the original PC version, so I take it as it's given to me. Konami probably either wanted a different direction with certain characters, orrrrr, they just plain didn't care about how the characters we're supposed to be represented. Either way, I loved the characters, or I would've loved the characters the original way they intended.

I wouldn't know. I only got halfway through the cinematic where the two wallace and grommit versions of Olha and Isha are sitting on the beach. "I... I... I really like it... when you play the flute!!"
I immediately reset my ps2 and resolved to find the PC mode/Japanese language codes before I even started the game.

I played thru it with the "new" cinemas. All the ones with characters in them sucked. All the ones just showing ships or whatever, without spoiling, were pretty good. Both Isha & Olha bugged me at first, but, for some reason, I got used to them.

i dont mind the voice. it couldn't be as bad as Ys Legacy DVD dubs.... now, THOSE were awful dubs.
I think the one that annoys me the most are the kids!!
I thought the voices were quite well done...

What annoys me most about the Ys Legacy dubs, is that the pronunciation chances from one disk to the next. They start off calling Adol "Odd-ull" then from the second disk on they pronouce it "Adul". Like Adult without the T.

i just feel there're no emotions in the dub.... dark fact has a dark voice in the japanese... in english.... it sounds like a school boy crying for help!

Let's face it, the Ys anime's weren't very good, atleast IMO. They went to far off the beaten track, though I LOVE the outakes!

I liked the animes in japanese, and the outakes were hilarious in english. I just couldn't watch the actual movie in english cuz like the scenes that were supposed to be tense and scary like... weren't. They changed the music around too on the english version which is all dumb. :/

were the outtakes real mistakes or just one of those made up mistakes a la Pixar's blooper's outtakes?? they were funny though.
to be back on topic, just remembered, some voicing were too slow. It suited the situation but someone like Emilio (who's a "Rich British Royalist" theme is brilliant) got annoying because he said things really... s-l-o-w...

They were real outakes. Like sometimes someone kinda screws their line up on purpose, but it's not like scripted humor. Alot of them are just people stumbling over their words and stuff like that, which normally wouldn't be funny but for some reason it just is.

I didn't mind it actually. I've heard both worse and better.
