It is possible to preorder the game in several stores here in Sweden, I don't know if this is 100% true, but I have sent an e-mail to one store asking where they got the information. Hopefully this is true, and I find it very likely since Konami did buy worldwide rights for it.
The release date has been set to April 21st, 2005.

NAM.
It has the PEGI symbol on it. It's most likely genuine, it even says PAL in the upper right corner. If that's a mockup (which would be strange - why make one?) that's a very detailed one.
The European cover looks much better than the American one.

Yea... the European one looks nicer but it's not like the US one is bad.... just not as intensely involved as the European...

Now it's confirmed. Konami of Sweden has announced a Swedish release. This means Ys: The Ark of Napishtim goes to Europe! The second Ys game in Europe. The first Ys game in Europe in 17 years! Fantastic!

Ys III was released on MSX in 1989 and it was only released in Japan (however, due to the heavy piracy back in the days [not as much as now, though], most of those games made their way to Europe). But of course, some people imported it.

Have you already forgotten everything? There IS no code for playing with the original music. The original music IS already used. The 2D sprites are also gone! But why do you want to play with them? You have probably already played the PC version. Do you want to play the exact thing again?

I like this one ! It's sober, enigmatic and much close to the japanese cover Genreraly, European covers a simply a copy/paste of the US ones. But most of european players prefers Japanese cover. For example Baten Kaitos cover awfull into its US/EURO desing.

Normally, I think I'd prefer both of those supposedly "boring" box arts. I dunno, I'm kinda one for the... ancient look that they have going on with them. But since this IS Ys, I think a more dramatic box art would be better. More action means it attracts more people, usually, and attention is SORELY needed for this game so we can get more of them sold. More sold means more translated, ported games. ^_^

New cover ! it doesn't look like the USA one or the Jap one USA: okok, maybe a little but I hate the colory thing they have going on in the european one. prefer the metallic look.

It's "better" than downloading the game illegally. What do you mean "better"? It is better. Downloading it isn't even an option of you LIKE Ys. Besides, getting a modchip in order to play a downloaded game is a LOT more expensive than actually buying the game - NEW.
