So what did you think of the music for Ys AoN? Some areas i thought where good like Mountain Zone and Windslash steps. Defend and Escape wasnt to bad either. I think overall though the music could have been better.

My favorite music (besides Release of the Far West Ocean), is Ultramarine Deep. Its just realy too bad that it's played during a very short "dungeon" in the game (i guess, its the shortest). There were a lot of great tracks in this OST. I dont feel its up to par with the rest of the series and the consistant great music in Ys I through IV (cant comment on V yet), but I still loved it. The tracks that sounded the best were realy amazing, and there were more than a few. I guess you could say i liked around half the soundtrack (with other Ys, its more like over 3/4). the other half was also good, but not as memorable.
I guess... i liked the music in Ys VI very differently compared to the rest of the series. the music i liked most in Ys VI didnt sound as rock-ish to me compared to other Ys music i love, with the exception of two or three tracks (i think you can guess which). Basicaly, unless you're battling something huge, it's realy mostly soothing music in comparison. I guess the environment of the game required less rocking out (there wasnt even a volcanic area in this game). The music was flawless in giving it a more island/tropical feel. Although, the path the music in the series took with this game reminds me of where Mega Man X's music went with X7 and X8... less rocky overall... still Ys VI's music ended up a ton better than the music in those games. Although, Rock tracks still did make it in with the intro and boss battles, so Ys VI has more variety.
Ofcourse, i much rather prefer Oath in Falghana's soundtrack. Its a total, 100%, classic Ys rock soundtrack brought into a new genaration, and it just blew my mind with every single track.

I loved the music in Ark of Napishtim, but I wish there was more rock in it. Some of my favorites were Release of the Far West Ocean, Windslash Steps, Mighty Obstacle, The Ruined City Kishgal, and Ernst.

I think YsVI has one of the best soundtracks of all the Ys games. I think it's both better and worse than YsI/II's music. It's much better than the YsIII/YsF soundtrack. Not as good as YsIV's soundtrack and certainly not as good as the YsV soundtrack! Anyway, my favorite songs are "UNDER THE OCCUPATION", "THE SUCCESSOR OF ALMARION", "RUINS OF AMNESIA", "OVERWATER DRIVE", "ULTRAMARINE DEEP", "RECONCILED PEOPLE", "THE AKINDO", "THE RUINED CITY KISHGAL", "BLACK ARK UNVEILED" and .... " SPREAD BLUE VIEW"! I've actually gotten to like those "techno" songs. But just these!

i think it has a decent soundtrack... not as good as Ys 1 and 2 but it holds its own. I haven't played it for a while but there are a few tracks that i just love... Release of the Far West and Mighty Obstacles.

Am I the only one who liked The Zemeth Sanctum song? Yes. Yes you are. actualy he's not lol, I like listening that one quite a bit, actualy. its the most soothing, nice-sounding Ys track ever... and at the same time it sounds epic, powerful and mystical. I would say that Tower of Fate from Ys III is better, but it was unfortunately just too short in comparison. music like this is a pleasnt surprise in a series where the best music is usualy powerful rock. allow me to fully list what tracks i liked aswell... : Release of the Far West Ocean, Mighty Obstacle, Ultramarine Deep, The Zemeth Sanctum, Defend! and Escape, Ernst, and The Depth Napishtim. then there were a few that i kinda liked, but never listen to outside the game... imo, they could have been better and could have sounded more Ys-like: Quatera Woods, Windslash Steps, Mountain Zone, The Ruined City 'Kishgal', Armored Bane. I'd almost go as far as saying some of the music in this game seems more FF-like than Ys... which realy isnt my thing

Ys AoN has pretty good music IMO. My favs are Mighty Obstacle, Ernst, Mountain Zone, umm... the music in the ship when you have to save the Rehda people, both village music, and the music of the Jap. intro.

Pretty good music but not as memorable as others in the series (have yet to play IV and V) True, Ys VI has pretty good music, but Ys IV (and if you're into orchestrated music then maybe Ys V too) soundtrack beats it easily.True? He just said he hadn't heard the music in Ys IV and V.

True? He just said he hadn't heard the music in Ys IV and V. Yeah, I can see that. I just agreed with him Ys VI having pretty good music and then compared it with Ys IV and V soundtracks by expressing my opinion.
Did I said something wrong? He said he hadn't played Ys IV and Ys V, and I am going to assume that he hasn't heard the music in those games either.

Correct assumption! I would buy the soundtracks but I'd rather wait until I was actually able to play those games. I don't know why I haven't bought Ys IV and done the translation burn thingy yet, but then again I don't know why I do a lot of things.

Ys6 OST was merely "ok" by Ys standards. Still much better than loads of the crap you can find out there, but Ys6 and Ys5 really sunk the series down, musically speaking.

YsV? You're crazy! That's the best Ys soundtrack in my opinion. I'd say the YsIII soundtrack is the worst.

No way! YsF is by far the greatest Falcom soundtrack, IMHO. Ys III (Turbo CD) is damn fantastic as well!

YsV Orchestral was amazing, I'll give you that. But the original SNES soundtrack? SEVERELY lacking. And I don't mean from a sound quality standpoint, I mean from a compositional one.

I always thought the Ys V score was perfect for the game. For me it added a feeling of high-flying adventure that hasn't been as present in the other Ys games. Songs like Crimson Ruins and Field of Gale are all I need to keep me coming back and listening to the rest of it. However, I just don't tend to be too critical about anything. I really do love just about all the game music I hear. Anytime someone says they hate a certain piece of game music, it always seems like it's one of my favorites. I guess it just comes down to personal opinion or taste.

Man, I shore do hate Searching for Friends!
Also: I liked Ys VI's music, myself. Especially the hidden city's theme and the last two boss themes. The final boss theme probably has one of the best oldschool finale feels I have encountered in some time.
