So I got the PC version in the mail and just got done loading and playing it a bit. Only thing im missing from the PS2 version is the english and MAYBE the voice acting. The colors are so much brighter and the sound comes through alot crisper then my TV. Also loving the Sprites vs Konami crappy polygonal stuff. Other then that its the same game but im glad I spent the money and snatched it up

If I live to be a hundred years old, I don't think I'll even be able to take Chibi Ernst seriously.

The PC version is neat -- mainly because of the nice graphics and good framerate on a computer that can handle it -- but I still think the PS2 version has advantages. Mainly the 3D models and the voice acting -- I just think those features are great. And I'm talking about the English voice acting, not the Japanese!

Lloyd and the Rehdan Fisherman have genius voice acting, and I'll kill anyone who says otherwise. Including you!

Hehe I too enjoy the vice acting, Ive heard ALT worse. I personally think the guy that voiced Dogi did a good job reminded me alot of the guy who did Dogi in the Ys Anime. Another thing I miss from the PS2 version is it shows the different armor and shiled Adol has equiped where as the PC version he has the "starting gear" look, through the whole game.

I've had an idea for some time that Falcom took a look at that in Konami's Port, and that's why they made the armor change possible in Oath in Felghana. Then again, in Ys III the colors of the various armors changed though. It still seems possible.

I did like how Adol's Armor and Shield changed in PS2 Ark. Did the shield change in the PC version?

Nope, only the swords changed in the PC Ark of Napishtim.

I can't stand the voice of Tera and the sprites!! Oh and old man Raba with his over exaggerated pitch changes. One lady in the village sounds nice and so does Crevia. PS2 version is better IMO.

I like Rahba's voice, myself. But yes, Terra needs to take a vow of silence.

If youve played Final Zone II or Last Alert for the TG16 CD then you will know the REAL bastardization in video game voice acting. All of you that think Ys Ark of Napishtim voice acting is terrible, you have to do some research. Here is a nice site for you to start: www.audioatrocities.com/

Ha! That's funny, I had no idea such a place existed! It was nice to see Legend of Heroes there. I hope they get Ys III there soon.

Back in the early 90's when videogames first got cinemas and voice acting, people were just amazed to see that in videogames. The voice acting wasnt criticized as much as nowadays. oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!! No more beeps and boops audio in video games.....Thats sooooo cool!

Besides Ys, I thought the voice acting in Exile was incredible back then. It's a shame I never got around to playing Exile 2.

We can all agree that Terra needs to take a vow of silence, right?
Also, maybe it's because I'm an old man, but I really love Dark Fact's speech from the Turbografx version of Ys I

LOL ..... where do you guys find these sites? I had a great laugh with the audioatrocities website. One of the WORST voice acting I can remember was in Ys 3 of the Turbografx version. Right after Adol saves the guy in the Tigra mine and they are outside talking. Just TERRIBLE acting.

Also, maybe it's because I'm an old man, but I really love Dark Fact's speech from the Turbografx version of Ys I. That is probably my most favorite moment in all of gaming. I completely agree about the Ys III voice acting, they dropped the ball with that one.

Download clip 4 from the legend of heroes section of audio atrocities. The long pause is hilarious. Sounds as if the voice actor took a slight cigarrete break while reading the lines. I'm just balling here listening to it.
