I was putzing around on youtube today and found this, I didn't recognize the background music, but it seemed to fit rather well as far as length was concerned, was there an alternate opening on one of the versions of Ys VI? www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsykIVsSEkw

I found it again, says it is the second opening to the PS2 Naphistim on this one. This guy had 2 videos up, the first was apparently directly from the PS2 as it loaded up the CG into, then came this. Maybe the Japanese PS2 release had a different anime opening? This is pretty much the same as the last, just from a different guy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKrUs1ekG10

I have the Japanese PS2 version, and I've never played it yet! I'll have to look into it.

The opening video is just a regular video file without sound. It is located in the YsVI folder (PC version). This guy obviously took that video and put some random (horrible, imo) song in the background for some reason.
Edit: In order to make it longer, he merged the opening video some other videos from the game.

That's what I figured, though it showing up in 2 seperate places listed as the opening had me wondering, that and the song sounded oddly familiar, and I don't know why.

I tripped over this same video the other day and was also somewhat boggled by it... ^^; Glad to have that cleared up. Have to admit that Release of the Far West Ocean IS better as tune goes... but I really wish they'd have upped the sample quality in Ys VI's music. That fake guitar sound bugs me a LOT for some reason. (Bothered me in games like Tales of Symphonia too.)
