Well, it's not a matter of saying yes or no. Falcom will license away all of their work away, as long as you have the money. Pay and you get the license. That's why there are so many horrible games with the Falcom label released by incompetent developers (Interchannel Holon and Ys DS, or Future Creates with Ys Strategy, anyone?). The first release that comes to mind is actually Ys Online. xD But yeah, what you said is true. Though luckily good games showed up too like Ys II Special.

Sorry for asking this here, but what exactly happened to Deuce? I've been away for some time, and it seems like his account and many of his posts/threads have been partially or fully nuked.
I'm guessing that I missed something? Is it related to the whole Nightwolve meltdown saga?
I've always enjoyed his presence in this community...

Wow, that's a shame. I don't see any of his posts, I guess because he nuked his account. Well, I've expressed my gratitude in the best possible way (contributions) multiple times in the past. True, to Nightwolve, but I figured they'd share whatever donations came their way.
No point posting empty words in a forgotten thread he'll probably not look at again any time soon. Still, a pity.

doppiapunta, this is absolutely wonderful.
I posted many many months ago that we needed someone like you.
You have my full support.
I don't want to again start up any debates about Ys VI on different platforms except to say this : The PC version IS the best version, for so many reasons, and therefor should be translated. Simple really....
I know you stated that you and your team translate for the enjoyment of it but if you need financial help you let me know.
PLEASE keep up the fantastic work.

Just for kicks, I tried playing the PSP version on the PC. Let's just say, the artwork looks very compressed (heavily compressed jpeg style, complete with jpeg artifacts and blurring on every texture and sprite) and nasty on fullscreen. It's also the closest to the PC version on any console.

And don't you hate how slooooow it gets when there's, like, more than 3 sprites moving around?!? hehehe I've said this before - Napishtim (the PC version) set a new benchmark for the entire series. I have a full-HD 40 inch LCD - I played the PS2 version and then connected my PC up to the screen. At 1920x1080 in that size! I was in heaven. Still am.

Speed is a non-issue for me. I have my PSP overclocked to 333 Mhz, the game loads directly off of the memory stick. No load times or slowdowns, at all. Just an overly compressed look with an O.K. framerate in the most demanding of situations (the most demanding being the Galba-roa and Napishtim battle -- I can live with that).
Edit: I do notice quite a bit of dithering in the game too, even Gurumin used dithering but it wasn't half as frequent as this!

How did you overclock your PSP??

I use a Custom FirmWare (CFW) "4.01 M33-2" and most CFWs (Especially by DarkAleX; "DAX") offer the option to overclock or underclock your PSP.
You can install PRX programs to these CFWs to improve functionality -- like I use RemoteJoyLite and Custom Firmware Extender (CFE) to play PSP games on my PC screen, or Hold+ to further extend battery life by turning off the PSP display and underclocking the PSP as opposed to simply locking the buttons.
I also use it to turn off the display and underclock my PSP without locking the buttons when playing Sonic Rivals or Sonic Rivals 2 on my PC (which is safe, since the load times aren't terrible and the game doesn't require even the stock/factory speed when playing). It also has a failsafe to prevent putting your PSP to sleep/off when flipping the hold switch off.
