Not exactly, no. ^_^; Certain events really ARE very different, and they do impact the ending ever so slightly as a result. To say more would ruin it for your pending playthroughs as Hugo and Toal. ^.^;
It's all yummy stuff though. Seriously. Have I mentioned I'm in love with this game? A few dozen times? XD

So~? It's fun to watch them angst and whine about how nobody, NOBODY understands them, oh boo hoo.
And shoot magic at the speed of a machine gun, and toss lightning bombs and so on. XD And cackle maniacally. Often.
Even if I knew not a LICK of how to read Japanese, I'm pretty sure I'd have learned what "AHAHAHAHA!" looks like in kana by now....

アハハハハハハハハハハハハ!!!
Falcom love large red font.
I still can't get how anyone can find any appeal in sulky 'no one understands me!' emo types, there are enough of them in the world as it is. Fact has the redeeming appeal of shooting, bombing, shielding and shooting fire lasers at stuff though, so it's all forgivable. He also had that Pictimos bit, which was one of my favourite parts by far of Yunica and Fact's routes (must... resist... Claw's...)

Falcom love large red font. .......................................................................... And ellipses! (To think that "..." would do. :P) Well, it's like how I can't understand why guys like quiet submissive but robotic/near emotionless girls like Rei from Evangelion. >_> (Well, I think I know why but ... bleh.) Or why people obsess over breasts and bottoms. Or why people like David Haslelhoff. Anyway, I think the liking emoy guys bit is that women are more sensitive to things like that and get all "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Look how needy he is. :((((((((((((((((((((( He needs love. TTTTTTTTTTTTTT" Guess it's a motherly thing? I dunno. Just guessing. *shurgs*

... just doesn't have the same effect though! Then again, neither does AHAHAHAHA, so... I actually liked some of the uses of red in it, especially the Pictimos bit on Fact's route and after Jenocres on both of them. It worked well. Meh, I can't understand any of the things on that list either It's not just you. I blame the character design, if he didn't have that 'blonde pretty boy design' no one could care about him. So people start finding reasons. Like your one. ...when did this turn into the psychology of fangirls? Back to discussing bouncy circles, people.

... just doesn't have the same effect though! I like Konami's overuse of exclamation marks the best though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm waiting for the day they accidentally leave in a 1 at the end of a long string of them. XD And ... there isn't much more to talk about in terms of bounciness. :( But you know, I always wondered about dungeons where people live. Like ... do they not find it troublesome to have to leap over gaps and obstacles such? I mean, in Felghana, I suppose the noble family stayed in the room cuz they couldn't exactly leave it with the crazy maid (I think) in front of it AND the huuuuuge hole in the middle between stairs. And for things like the Aeropolis in Tales of Destiny -- did people actually travel on the highly, HIGHLY STUPID AND DEMENTED moving coloured platforms to get to work everyday? For an advanced society, you'd figure they'd create faster and less cumbersome & confusing transportation!

Emo, shmemo. =P You just mentioned why I like him (the destructive capabilities, that is). The emo thing is just a perk because it's entertaining to watch the silly twit wallow in his own self-induced suffering. This sadistic reasoning of mine applies to the general appeal of the same character type. I don't get the other items in nunuu's exhaustive list of obsessions there myself. o.O; To each their own, I suppose. ...SO~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 (^_^ ha ha.) About dungeon design! I wonder how the McGuire children will ever grow up to be the least bit mentally sound in a castle like that. Especially with those maids with the knives. ; "^.^ Welcome to Valestein Castle-- NOW DIE!! *shing!*" What. The. HECK?

True, but there are a surprising number who like the emo angsty type for what it is for some unknown reason.
Also, being mentally sound is overrated. Psychotic assassin or average noble? I know which sounds more fun. The gaps, swinging spiked balls and such would help with that too, so maybe that's why that's there.
That top room is still a good question though... >_>

But don't you find it the least bit frustrating that they're silly twits wallownig in their own self-induced suffering? I dunno. Every time I encounter characters like that in cartoons or literature, I feel the need to punch them. Afterall, they brought it onto themselves. I know I'm looking at things simplistically but, as I mentioned before, I really don't care about their history. As long as their personality is like that, I. Will. Hate. I actually have something else to type but I can't really type it without giggling or laughing and since I'm currently at work ... :P

I know, Varion, howzabout a psychotic, formerly noble assassin? =P
...And Deuce's didactic discourse (hello alliteration, how are you?) just reminded me I need some science and humanities credits to get out of the way this semester. -_-;
A little random/offtopic education never hurt anybody, hey?

Well I was just poking at emos in general so if Fact isn't really then it's all good. Doesn't keeping it in your mind make you laugh too though? Congratulations, regardless. You can now hand in a thesis on breasts. If it's a male in charge you're bound to get some credits for that, right? Include pictures and diagrams and you're away. A psychotic formerly noble assassin is fine too.

We'll need a copy of said thesis and pictures, of course. (I'm a guy; of course I had to say it.) That's why we have Google, the number one "thesis" search engine.

Well of course the emo thing makes me snicker. ...............I suppose a "thesis" like that is one way to ensure an easy passing grade. I think I'll eschew any picture examples however...........

wow Ys Origin has so many references to other Ys games. However the exception seems to be that there are no references to Ys 5?? Or perhaps Ys 5 is a totally different legend by itself that has nothing to do with the black pearl, emelas or galbalans?? Since Falcom put Kishgal in I was almost expecting Stoker or Foresta to be in it but maybe not.....

I was going to remark on how off-topic this has gotten, but really, it's kinda still ON-topic! (Hey, I'm a guy too, y'know!) -Tom Yes, the discussion still veered ultimately toward bouncy.. uh, circular objects. ..speaking of the references, I wonder 'bout Kishgal and Epona. Their little tribe and all that.

Highlight the next part to see the spoiler about those people. Kishgal, Epona, Dalles, and Zava are from the group of people who tried to control the ark of napishtim and failed. I think that group was called "the clan of darkness" or something like that. Ernst and Geis from Ys VI are also from this group. Dalles and Feena talk about napishitim (it is mentioned as the box, I think)during the Claw's scenario.
