Um does this clan also include Gruder, Gadis and Bami from Ys Mask of the Sun?? Probably yes. Since Dalles and Ernst, who belong to this clan, went around trying to gain the power of Emelas in previous games, the mask of the sun should be the subject of interest as well. It would be natural for people from this clan to be main villains if Falcom decides to remake Ys 4.

Haha oh wow, this went back to a serious Ys discussion? I'm amazed. Nice to see the highlight spoiler technique's catching on What were their names supposed to be anyway? Or do we have to wait for the patch to find out?

Or do we have to wait for the patch to find out? It's been a while since I popped Dawn of Ys in, but I think the translations we've all been going with are Garuda, Gadis, and Bammy. Might be Bammi, though, but I'm pretty sure it's two Ms. Definitely Garuda, though.

For the spoilers you surround the text with [ color=2F3238]SPOILER[ /color] without the spaces next to the square brackets, which just makes the text exactly the same colour as the background.

Ah, many thanks! ^_^ I shall abuse it when necessary. :D Erm, bouncy things ... hirm .... ._.;;;;; Well, they made me laugh when I was fighting those undead enemies that thrust their claws into the ground! It was goofy since I kept getting knocked into the trampoline thing by their claws. XD This was especially true at the Poisonous Blood area with that really weird single magical trampoline that gave you access to a place where 3 of those monsters were. I suppose it acts like a trap for the unforutnate folks that accidentally step onto it. ^^;

The really high shoved in the corner bit with the jar on? Didn't compare to the crazy cog bit soon after though, that had bounces too.
...am I the only one who thinks 'Magical Demon's Tea Party' when I hear the music in that area? I didn't like it at first but it really grew on me after a few loops, but that's always the mental image I get listening to it. It's mainly the section after 0:55. Weird.

That oddball single 'trampoline' was fun for a little change of pace with the monster-killing. ^_^ My method was something like: Yunica - BOING~ firebird toss Hugo - BOING ~ leave a mine/aim firewheel Although using Toal's godspeed skill at the tippy top of that bounce could accidentally propel you to god knows WHERE. ; It was kinda funny though. ....'Magical Demon's Tea Party' huh? Er.. well, I wasn't crazy about the tune either at first, but I rather like it now. I don't think THAT particular mental image ever entered my mind. Until now. ARGH.

I dunno why I didn't think of any of that stuff... well, I might have done, but I can't remember now. Oh well, save it for the replay. Well, except Toal, STILL haven't finished with him yet.
Ha ha! Well, if no one feels the same way forcing the image into your head is a good alternative. Still, I'm not surprised it didn't seem as good at first considering the chain of area music that came before it - Water Prison, Guilty Fire and Silent Desert aren't easy to match. Gives me an idea for a thread actually.

Heehee. I've been getting steadily more creative on my monster bloodletting in this playthrough. You have to find some way to keep it fresh, right? XD Toal I admittedly rushed through so I could see the proper ending and such. I think I basically pinballed him through every single area.... I missed a few inventory items as such, and that pisses me off. A lot. And you're right about the music-- although I really do think it's hard for something coming immediately after Silent Desert to sound anything akin to good. =P That level and its music were just all manner of awesome.

Pinballed literally? He suits it, godspeed-bouncing him from one wall to the other all the way through the game. Just as well the game doesn't have a headache meter I suppose. Only Dogi could get away with that and come out feeling okay. Part of me was hoping we could see a very, very, very, very distant ancestor of Dogi in Origin. With a fluffy white beard and moustache.
Silent Desert = Win. It'd probably be slightly more win if my first experiences of it weren't being underlevelled and doing a whole load of 1 damage though.

Pretty much literally, yes. And the game doesn't need a headache meter for that- save to count the headaches it wound up giving ME from trying to follow him around the screen. @_@
Maybe Mucha or Roy are actually Dogi ancestors. Laugh with me now. XD
Being underleveled in Silent Desert is a GREAT way to die miserably and make your poor character hate you.

Those bouncy circles were just... there. They needed to have better uses. Like a boss that tosses them out and you have to use them in order to hit their weak spot or something. Or put them on walls with moving platforms over pits of lava with rolling spikes that hover over the empty gaps.
Yunica on Normal was way too easy, so I decided to ramp it up with Hard for Hugo, and I've come to the conclusion that Hugo in sand + skeleton hands + Hard Mode = instant death (or very close to it with wind shield), as they shoot out four hands instead of 2 in this difficulty which deal 40-ish damage a hit. =\

Hmm. ...and Yunica on normal was way too easy? I died over and over on pretty much every major boss up to Zava on normal with her. I feel like a Ys failure now. *makes mental note never to play above normal with any character other than the Claw*

Your first play through after a lengthy Ys holiday, dude... I wouldn't worry about it 8) Although I'm still surprised you didn't play with Hugo on Hard >_>

I started on hard with him, got beaten by Epona repeatedly then thought his defence was too weak or something and went back to normal. Found out later that was just a one off after beating just about every other boss within a few tries, often within one. Ah well, I won't make that mistake on my next playthrough

Part of me was hoping we could see a very, very, very, very distant ancestor of Dogi in Origin. With a fluffy white beard and moustache. Santa? :O And being underlevelled anywhere = death though. I had a grand old time in the Poisonous Blood territory bouncing all over the place and having Hugo dropping bombs like a madman. :P For Yunica, I just firebird every enemy to kingdom come. Took a while though but I seriously had to keep everything from hitting her. ^^; What was neat about some of those areas though was the LAVA. Mwahahaha. Shoving enemies into that stuff was GOLD cuz when they hop back on to land, they'll explode anyway. XD XD XD

No, Santa comes down the chimney, not through the wall Silent Desert was the last time I had trouble with being underlevelled though... well, no, except that one room in the Poisonous Blood where you drop down and there's loads of red enemies and no way to escape. I somehow managed to go through the whole of Yunica's route without ever finding the healing cloak I was okay against normal enemies but that group just weren't dying and I had to teleport out like a wimp. Ah well, no one wants Yunica dead. You have to dive in after them to get the loot half the time though! But it was fun to do. I thought it was going to do that much damage to me at first so just kept the hell away, until I accidentally fell in and it did about... 2. Ah well.

See, I've never had a problem with being underlevelled in any Ys game EXCEPT Ys I Complete, when I attempted to take on Dark Fact before hitting my max level. Then again, I ONLY play Ys games on normal mode. Normal mode is hard enough for me... nothing beyond that, thank you. ...how the hell did you do that? I was 10 before Vagullion and still kept getting my ass kicked my him horribly so much that I eventually gave up and to this day have not finished Ys I >_>
