Heya,
Anyone know if there's a way to configure Falcom's games to use a game controller other than the first one windows detects?
Long story short: I'm trying to use a connected wiimote to play the game. It's a freaking sweet setup, but the game is detecting the bluetooth device itself that I need to interface with the wiimote. (Of course I could map the wiimote to the keyboard instead, but then I'd lose out on analog control.)
Thanks for your help!

hmmmm.... I doubt there's too many others here who'd have a setup like that - Why not just do what I did - pick up a Logitech Playstation-style pad for PC for about $20 and kick back in a recliner chair enjoying full analogue sweetness!

Yeah, I have a ps2 usb adaptor, but think! Swinging the wiimote to swing the sword, pressing the A button to jump, B button for magic, the nunchuck analog stick to move and the Z button for that limit breaker thing. Every action is right in reach, and it would be really easy to say, charge a spell while jumping and attacking an enemy.
And it's all set up except Ys can't detect the analog joystick due to it finding the actual bluetooth adaptor as the input device. It's a sad story.

I've always thought it'd be a fine working and really fun idea. You could also have the option of moving Adol around by pointing, like how you can move him with your mouse in some PC Ys games. And if Ys would give you more of a workout than other Wii games, Zelda should be used as the ultimate weight loss program. Has anyone gotten the Wii Remote to work along with the nunchuck attachment, let alone with any PC game at all? Last I heard, people were using the remote to point in some FPS (using it more like a mouse, not a pointer)... but I don't think they were able to shoot or something. I'd have looked more into it and tried it out if my computer could detect bluetooth.

Ys on Wii!! This must happen! xD
That was a sweet idea. IT's cool, but I believe it's impossible. =(

I'd love to see someone simulate the spinning sword jump and the downward stab, personally.

Well, I guess it'd be pretty funny... if you want to get into bad wii control design and extreme exaggerations to spin attack in zelda you just had to lightly shake the nunchuck. I doubt that they'd make you get on your feet, point directly towards the screen, and jump up and down while spinning counter clockwise (faster = lenghtier spin and hight), or at least something along those lines, to do a spinning sword jump in Ys. Makes me tired and somewhat nauseous just thinking it up... the downward stab... leap from the right arm of your couch with great hight while pointing the remote downward at a 90° angle. slam your head through the ceiling for massive damage!

Well, there's absolutely nothing hard about getting a wiimote to work for PC games, including nunchuck control. All you need is a bluetooth adapter and a wiimote scripting program called GlovePIE, which lets you read in everything like the buttons, analog stick, gyroscope, or flicks with either hand.
Works great with a lot of PC games except for Ys and others due to the way they recognize the gamepad.
