Well, if you're looking for fan remixes, there are a few at vgmix.com. www.vgmix.com/song_list.php?mode=7&a=Y&wip=0Four of them are mine. I plan on releasing more in the future and I'm also redoing my "Thrashing Through Grana-Vallis" mix and will submit it to ocremix.com when it's done (my new version is much better than the one I posted to vgmix) There are also quite a few remixes by Japanese fans out there, but I can't remember any of the websites offhand.

Geh heh. This is where -I- come in. ^_^ At least, for the Japanese fan remix sites. In no particular order, other than the order I thought of them: Live Studio S.S.H.Rating: 4/5 Place of PramRating: 3/5, but I haven't heard all of their stuff. They've got a nice version of "Valley of Quicksand" and "To Make the End of Battle," though the latter -very- closely follows an official rearrangement. Made in JapanRating: 3/5 Scan EdgeRating: 4/5. Lots of tunes, all done very well. They work their mixes a bit differently from other sites, too, so I really enjoy that uniqueness. (Because honestly, for about 50% of the Japanese remix sites I've visited, the -exact- same instruments are used.) Fantasic Phantasy (And no, I did NOT misspell "Fantastic." That's all them.) Rating: 4.5/5, if simply because of one of the most... unusual versions of "Mighty Obstacle" I've heard. Who'd a thunk jazz? Seven TastesRating: 4.5/5. Reason? "Ernst." Sound Factory CarolinaRating: 4/5. I really enjoy their version of "To Make the End of Battle." Levo LutionRating: 5/5. I prefer Vurez's version of "Mountain Zone," but "The Depth Napishtim," "Mighty Obstacle," and "Release of the Far West Ocean" are all done superbly. There's a heckuva lot more out there, but this is a pretty good start. ^_^#nosmileys

Heh. Well, since ya'll like 'em so much, I'll help out a little more with 'em. First of all, this stuff is pretty easy to find on your own. Just go to Google, change the language setting so that you're searching pages written only in Japanese, and then search for "Ys .mp3". You can add the proper roman numeral after the Ys if you're looking for a specific game. It -seems- to be important that you have a space before the ".mp3" part, though. Additionally, you can look for ".lzh", which are zipped up files that WinRAR can decompress. Also, this is a site you might want to bookmark: Arrange Stream. These folks go over TONS of Japanese sites to find new remixes. If someone uploads a new Ys mix, chances are very good it'll get recorded on Arrange Stream. Something gives me the impression that everyone here already knows all that, though. <<' So, onto the direct linking. sate.gozaru.jp/ (Hirai's Music) Rating: 3.5/5. You know how RPGamer had those Ys remixes by a guy named "Hirai?" Yeah, this is his place. Doesn't have his "Valestein Castle" remix, and the "Termination" version he has up is only a demo (which kicks -major- booty), but he's got a nice version of "Ice Ridge of Noltia." KnightElevenRating: 4/5. You MAY have problems actually determining what the Hell you're downloading from this page, since for me everything shows up as odd symbols. I think maybe I just don't have the proper character package installed, though. Anyway, the filename is listed in the lower left-hand corner of your browser when you put the mouse over the D/L link, and the songs are all properly labeled game-wise there. If you can find it, I recommend their version of "Release of the Far West Ocean." It's got a funky... harpsichord-like synth in it that works for me. Plus absurd amounts of guitar synth. music.nijinone.jp/sakuhin/list/Ys.html (Fricked if I know) Rating: Ehh.../5. Okay, have fun here, folks. This is one of those sites that looks around for various remixes (much like Arrange Stream) and links to them. The quality is... all over the map, honestly. <<' I personally vouch for... well... none of these remixes. There's gems in here for the right person, but... for most of them, I'm not the right person. >> Poly8Timbre4Rating: 3.5/5. Very... VERY different. There's two Ys remixes on here near the bottom. One is a R&B version of "First Step Towards Wars," the other is a jazzy (read: sounds like it's from "Shaft") version of "Tower of the Shadow of Death" with... uhm... an ohm-ing voice that follows the music. Alternative, yo! Ebiyan.netRating: 3.5/5. They have one Ys IV remix, of... <looks up Deuce's translation> ..."The Great Forest of Selceta." I like it, personally. It's no Ryo Yonemitsu, but it's enjoyable to me. Surime infoRating: 4/5. Alrighty! Two Ys 6 remixes, both of which are -very- nice. But, if I may make a recommendation: get their Unlimited SaGa remix of "Battle Theme EX." It is GREAT. Enjoy the music! ^_^

What can I say? Thank you very much, Vert. Not a problem. It's actually one of my hobbies to collect fan remixes, mostly of battle themes. Why battle themes? Because I like the power rock that's in most of them. And since the Ys soundtracks are, well, mostly power rock, I basically collect every Ys remix I find. So really, it's my pleasure. ^_^

Actually, I haven't heard any of the music from AC2. Wouldn't have even thought about it, either. I'll have to check it out, though, since you say I might like it. Thanks for the recommendation!

You might be looking for the wrong thing. Try looking for "Adoru" instead of "Adol." ^_^ Additionally... remixes of the "1993" version are a hella lot more common. From what I can tell... they're reasonably the same song. Here's one for you, though. theFRONTRiVER300You DID pick a rare one, though. << I'll give you that. I'll have to look a little deeper on this one to get much more. OH! I found something that the rest of you will like, too. ^_^ SEEDRating: 4.5/5. Get "Over Drive" now. Holy crap. The rest of the songs seem decent, too, but Over Drive is just splendid.

If you mean the theme song from the first Ys game compared to the Ys 4 version, I can nitpick. But nobody likes a nitpicker anyways. Those fan remixes look interesting. I'll have to check them out for myself.

Lords of Thunder is an amazing soundtrack. I think the game was even marketed in the US for the music being the strong point of the game. Turbo Duo = Greatest gaming music in history.
