Then what computer DO you have?
Well, I don't think this will be like Ys. Perhaps more like YsV or VM online. I am sure this won't need such a good computer.

Very cool, but communication might be a problem if you don't know how to speak Japanese :\

seldane---> I have a Dell inspiron 3800 with pentium veleron 600 MHz. VM online works great. But I havent bought any new games in years(for the PC) the last one I got was baldurs gate 2 and it had some slow load times...
dhalia---> you dont have to speak to each other, at least not in games like VM online...
And if you are a button masher who likes any of the typical online games(quake or some of the other ones, I dunno bc I dont play them) then all you do is kill each other.

It's possible this game uses Ys VI engine, so we already know it's going to be nice if it proves true...

Yes. I heard so too. That might be a cause that Dracula can't play the game. But it seems nice, very nice. Too bad I won't be able to play it.. (No internet connection at my PC).

by the time this does come out, you might have internet access at home( the price seems to drop every year for internet access, the more widespread it is, the more readily availible it will be, also cheaper and more choices from who to buy it from.)
But it will be weird playing an Ys game where I control a character other than adol, maybe they will let us control other characters(Goban Toba's thieves guild, Members of rance villiage fighters, mages guild?) Not all games were meant to be played online, but this could be pretty good, wait and see I guess.

I do have internet connection at home. On my Mac with super-slow internet connection. I would love to play Ys online though. And it'd be great to play as Dogi since he's my favorite Ys character. Although he's really ugly in YsVI. That was dissapointing, but at least he broke a wall when I was trapped! (Ys I, III, VI).

Maybe it is the voice actor in Ys 1 and 2 that I dislike..

No. Dogi and Luta Gemma is not the same characters....If I remember correctly. But anyway, Dogi, he's the real Ys companion!

That may be correct. But I think Luta Gemma was someone else. At least his name is Dogi in Ys III official translation, and in the inofficial Ys IV translation. I believe Luta Gemma was one of the Ys book guys (no, he WAS), and he's also the husband of a woman in Zeptic village. (He's a sleepwalker, that's how he ended up in the tower).
Dogi = Colin! That's it. His name was Colin in the Turbo CD version. That might be why you don't remember him.

But Dogi is on Ys Book III: Wanderers From Ys for the TG 16, and Colin was from Ys Book I and II for the TG 16, so they can't be the same person. And anyways...back on topic. I wonder what the graphics will look like? I haven't played anything past Wanderers from Ys, so I don't know what those newer graphics look like (With the Ys games).

Colin was deffinitly Dogi, that's pretty well known. It's not because in Ys 2, 3, & 4 of the games, he breaks thru walls(haven't played thru 5 or 6 yet). It's not because he looks exactly like Dogi in the other games. It's not because there is no Colin in the Ys Anime's, but there is a Dogi in them. It's mainly because he's called Dogi in the Japanese version. If you get the PC Engine version, he is called Dogi. In Ys 4, him & Adol return to Esteria(which happens before Ys 3) & hang out with Goban, there is no Colin there. Then in 3, they go to Dogi's homeland. Let's just think of Colin as his middle name.

I'm not real sure that has been answered yet, or if it has it went right over my head. I've been rather excited about this game, although I know my hopes to play it will be inevitably crushed when the American and PAL territories gaming industry decide that "Ys is simply not popular enough here" even though it is their fault they've done such a lousy job marketing the series up until Ys VI, which didn't sell to well because, "Hey! Where are Ys 1-5!? I can't play this series out of order!"
Opps, sorry, went on a bit of a tangent there...

This game will definitely not be released outside of Asia. It will NEVER happen, I'm 154% sure of that.

If somehow this game is released it WILL blow. Online Leveling games sux ass. It just becomes one big monster grind to get the the max lvl. With really no endgame in sight. Ys should stay where it belongs, in the single player realm.

I think an MMO in the Ys universe could be done well, if done right. But it would have to be the same format of Ys I think. Maybe just a big world you wander around in checking out different places 'n whatnot keeping a very similar engine and having several storylines to follow.
Its doable.
The problem is, the corporate universe revolves around money and has the creativity of a rock in mud.
