Ok... question number 2! (I knew I'd end up asking this, but was desperately hoping I wouldn't have to). I finally got my hands on Ys I.II Complete and tried installing it (not that there was much to do) and used the patches too (thank you o god-like people who made those!!), but as I expected, for some reason the videos are running at lightning fast speeds while the music is trotting along at its usual normal pace. Why did I expect this? Well... a while back, at the start of my recent incredibly excited Ys fit, I tried installing the Ys II version that Falcom released through Yahoo japan games area? That had the same problem. I was looking through the older threads hoping for some solution when I came across this one: seldane.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=ysI&action=display&thread=2284Would some video codec fix this problem of mine? And if so, does anyone have any clue what this codec is? Sorry for bothering you all again! (Perhaps this be a sign I should stop loitering about and get back to work!) [[Er... yes... I downloaded it. *guilty* One day when I actually get a credit card all the Ys games shall be the first on my list!
Does this mean though I'm not worthy of getting any answers?]]

Ah, I also have the same issues with the Yahoo Japan versions, even when I patched them. Nobody really remembers what codec they used. I also had problems with bosses moving EXTREMELY fast, such as the final boss of Ys I. Sadly, I haven't found a fix for that issue either -- I tried following every last instruction from the patch/troubleshooting FAQs and the message board archive, but to no avail. If anyone finds a fix for any of these problems though, I recommend these fixes get stickied. For example, I also had issues with the music in Ys I and II not playing, or playing at the wrong tempo altogether; the solution? Another patch on the site which I was completely oblivious to.

Ouch... that's worse! D: I haven't really played on till a boss fight to be able to complain (actually, I haven't played on at all!) but I haven't had any issues with the music not playing, thankfully! Er... yet... Mweh... so I'm doomed then? I'm destined not to play this (properly)! (Maybe I should try installing it on the ancients old 1 GB computer...)

That would probably help. Perhaps if you installed Windows 95 to an alternative directory, (WINDOWS2 or WINDOWS95, for instance, as opposed to C:/WINDOWS/) or some 95 emulator, it just might work without a problem. I've never done this myself so I can't really speak for the people that do do this. Infact, I don't even know if Windows 95 has international language support. =\ However, what didn't work for me just might work for you, so before resorting to drastic measures, try following the troubleshooting/faq included with one of the Ys I & II Complete patches.

So I went back and read the troubleshooting FAQ with the patch again and that remined me of something. Em... where on earth is V-Sync on one's graphic card? *idiot* I mean, I don't think I could have turned it off, considering I can't find it, but just incase I might have in my early days of happy idiot exploring when I first got this computer, I want to check?
Oh, I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS by the way, sooooo... if anyone knows their way around this graphic card, help would be most appriciated!

Man, I made exactly one of these not long ago, but I can't find it. Well, here's another one:

Thank you! Yes, I was actually looking at that old 'V-Sync guide' of yours but since my control panel looked different (like this one) I couldn't figure out for the life of me! Or rather (how incredibly blind can one be?!) I was staring at this very panel and still did not see it! Either way, I went clicking away, turned the V-Sync manually on (unchecking the application based box) aaaaaaand... still a fast forwarded video! Oh well... (Why on earth were my settings on Castle Wolfenstein though...? ) And since I went on a hyper install everything mode a few minutes back, my control panel resembles the one from your old guide now. One odd new thing I noticed though after this - after Adol wakes up, is half the clinic usually shrouded in darkness??
