I missed the launch boat on this game, and I have not heard a ton about the game. What I have heard has been......meah. I am going to have to find the game on ebay, seeing how falcom wont sell the xp versions anymore, and I am not willing to shell money out for a vista machine. Is this game really worth the trouble, and will it be a pain in the ass to get it running on my old laptop? I got OoF to run on it fine btw.
Also a little off topic, would it be worth importing the complete versions of Ys 1 and 2. Never played them as I have only ever played the eternal versions.

The Vista version works in XP too. But that's because Vista is the weaker, younger (and somewhat retarded) bastard child brother. Big boy XP will run anything.
And is it worth getting? No. If you've played YsF already, that's more than enough. Consider this: This damn game takes place in a single, poorly designed dungeon. And it's only in Japanese. Wait six years, then a translation patch might come out, and the game will be practically free on Yahoo Japan.
Is it worth getting Ys Complete if you've played Eternal already? Nope. It's the same game.

I have Ys 1 to 4 on the pc engine and from what I have played they are the best on that system (excluding Ys 3 and 4 which were AWESOME on the snes)

Definitely. Three types of gameplay depending on who you play as, some of the best bosses in the series, great music. The story's pretty good too, though you probably won't get to experience that for a while.

If your a die hard fan of the Ys series then origins is a good time killer to fill in while waiting for any "new" Ys games. Its pretty much Oath in Felghana but purely action and dungeon based.
