Too Full with Love is very pleasing. And I have Tender People queued up so that it may be fresh in my mind.
Edit: Tender People is pretty chill. It brings back memories of the first time I met Zalem, and was stuck by her obvious madness.

Zalem's cute, but I wouldn't lose myself in her eyes for too long. She has the looks of a genuine killer.

She sells the best purchasable weapon in that game or the one before it.
Think about that.

Ys music that I really like for for each game are:
Ys I The Last moment of The Dark Final Battle Tears of Sylph
Ys II Overdrive Termination
I don't like Ys II soundtrack in general. While it is not bad by any means, those are about the only memorable ones.
Ys III (OiF) Valentine Castle Lava Zone theme Be Careful
While Ys: OiF is my favourite Ys soundtrack, I am not too fond of boss themes. They are certainly memorable, though.
Ys IV In the Fires of Ignition Battle #58 Shrine of the Sun
Ys VI Mighty Obstacle Gratitude for Nature's Blessings Ernst
Ys Origin Termination The Last Moment of The Dark Sad theme (right after the battle against the final boss in Thor's storyline)
There are many others that I wouldn't mind listening to but these are the ones that first come to my mind.

Soooo... I'm quite slow in catching onto things but, reading back on all the posts and seeing Unsavory Maggot mention Art of Evasion... was it on the soundtrack at all? (Or any of the Alma's trials' music for that matter?) I just realized I don't think I heard it there (and can't see it now?)? Or was it released on some other seperate special cd?

Ys VI PS2 was originally going to contain a brand new soundtrack, but only few of those new songs made were actually used in the game. This is because Konami decided to use the old original soundtrack after all, and just scapped the new soundtrack. Almost. They used some of those songs in Alma's Trials.
The PSP version used the remainder of those songs in its new mini games. These songs are as far as I know not available for download anywhere, and they are definitely not available on cd. Someone recorded the songs used in the PS2 version, though. They can be downloaded here and there.

Sad. Some of the songs in Alma's Trials were some of the nicest!

I like "The mourning grow" and "Feena" from chapter I, Master System version...Call me old fashion, its cool! It's not old fashioned. Chip music is hip. Because it is GREAT. And Master System has some of the best chip music out there, so naturally it features one of the best versions of the Ys 1 soundtrack. I can add you on MSN later and give you the X68000 music. But (this is getting repetitive) I am not home now and I won't be for a long time, so I cannot send what I don't have here. Later this summer.

My favorite Ys soundtrack would have to be Ys III, PCE-CD version. Ryo Yonemitsu is awesome.
Edit: On second thought, the Ys IV Perfect Collections are far better. What was I thinking?

Funny how one's tastes change over time! So true. xD And NOW that you mention it... perhaps I should do a more fair, in depth comparison between these two versions' OSTs. Although I think I'll still find the PS2's better. We will see.

I agree. Suddenly, Origin is my favorite over Felghana and Napishtim. ;D Felghana's overplayed, because I played it to hell. Napishtim... never really appealed to me beyond the opening and boss themes.

Hmm if I had to pick I would have to go with the PS2 Ys I and II soundtrack. I used to listen to it on my PSP everyday. I gotta convert those PSF files again.

I liked Ys Origins b/c it remade some of the classic tunes from Ys I and II. I really like Ys 5 for SNES and its score was (the field mostly) one the best. Ys 3 was outstanding and of the remakes by Taito, they managed to get Ys 3 right.

Valestein Caslte from Felghana and the boss music from Origins(when you fight the Lava zone boss) are outstanding. Plus, the blizzard zone in Eternal II on PC is prolly when of my favs at the moment.

Origins, origins, origins, origins... It's Ys Origin, dammit. Without the "s". I see... does it bother you when I say Origin S... hehehe Origin.
