Wagnard (who makes some damn fine operas), reveals his "master" plan, "If Kardis is resurrected, all will be consumed in darkness. People, the land, even monsters! All will lose their lives when it happens! "But for me, the destruction of everything will be the beginning! I shall take control of the deceased. . . and become the lord of the kingdom of the dead!"
Naturally, it being an anime, Neese responds with your typically enthusiastic, "I won't let you do such a horrible thing! blah blah blah."
For once, if ever there's been a more appropriate response, I'd like to see the hero character say, with contemptuous condescension, "that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard." And than laugh derisively until the villain leaves in embarrassment.

I decided to give Madoka a chance, based on all the praise it gets. At first, I thought it was just another mahou shoujo made for happy-go-lucky teenage girls. I was really disappointed.
Until the end of the third episode. I'll be sticking with this one.
A bit strange that they'd spend the first couple episodes trying to scare off people like me, and draw in people like. . . Hitler? (spoiler vid)
And his comment about making Saya no Uta into an anime has me interested in yet another visual novel I'll probably never read.
And lastly--I want to squeeze Kyubey! THAT THING WAS MADE FOR CUDDLING!!!

At first, I read that as Naruto I've heard it's a really macabre show! Almost as dark, bloody, and depressing as Inuyasha! Thanks for two more titles, by the way. I'll be sure to check 'em out (googling gave me a very graphic spoiler for one of them ) Also: Saya no Uta English patch get! Now I just have to find the. . . game? . . . book?. . . program. Thing.

Madoka confirmed as satire! I thought it was just a genre breaker, but when they actually explained the purpose of the Puella Magi, I was reminded of those gnostic sects which perverted established scripture by deifying Cain and Lilith and such. Obviously, the people who made this show HATE the mahou shoujo genre. And I love them for it! Also, It's one thing for Kyubey to say terrible things with that cute smile and innocent expression on its face, but to eat its own body and state, "you've already killed me twice," while rolling around adorably. Zarathrustra would be proud!

I've caught up on Fate Zero, and have started Mirai Nikki. It's one of the few shows that gripped me solid from the first episode. After watching mostly lukewarm anime year-round, it's REALLY good to be hit with a solid string of superb series! Year of Anime, indeed! Also, I want an adorable stalker! As for Fate Zero, am I the only one who loves Emiya's character? It's always great to see ENTJs in fiction--especially when they're taken out of the "evil villain" stereotype. (yeah, he's introverted emotionally, but "man of action" = E ) Also, because I'm friggin' FOURTH on the library waiting list for A Dance with Dragons, I'm reading Saya no Uta. I'd heard it was dark, but it turns out there's Lovecraftian influence. Now THAT'S dark! It's really bizarre and twisted, and I find myself really feeling bad for Fuminori (and Yoh). and I'm assuming Saya is a demon, or something. I mean, if normal people look like THAT, then god knows what the fuck the thing he's fucking actually looks like! Thanks go to Karura and Hitler for turning me onto it! --man, Karura's into some fucked up shit! //and is damn lucky she lives on a different continent than me!

Mirai Nikki (So...my girlfriend is an axe murderer.) Guilty Crown (So cliche I love it. Also it's gorgeous.) Persona 4 (Big fan of the game) Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Fan of the artist, needed a comedy. Fairly silly so far.)

If there's a comic about it, I MUST be right! Eeeew. After I get my daily work quota done, with a choice of playing Yakuza or reading Saya no Uta. . . I think I"m actually levitating toward Saya no Uta. That's messed up. That's very good to hear. I've been wary of unoriginal anime ever since Samurai Deeper Kyo. . . I've been downright distrustful since Pandora Hearts. *shakes Xebec* Where's season 2? WHERE'S SEASON 2?!!!!And on that note, Does anybody know if Tsubasa was ever finished? I only watched the first season, but, despite the episodic nature, I absolutely swooned for it! Such a sweet show! *kicked for being a sappy girly libra*

LOL! ALL of Type-MOON´s PC visual novels are eroges (with the exception of the upcoming Mahoutsukai no Yoru), in case you didn´t know that either That means i will have to read Tsukihime in discretion too Also, regarding Mirai Nikki, you are right, the main char was alright in the manga, but i just feel like punching him now, he is just pathetic and the voice they use for him doesnt help at all. Ironic becuase his role is the same, but maybe they went overboard when it came to portraying him.

Currently watching Kanon OVAs (13) and Gift: Eternal Rainbow. The first one is great for winter but the second title is a sight disappointment, quite badly drawn and thin story, which is a shame as I've been wanting to review this anime for years. Finished reading Medieval Ghost Stories.

Finished my first readthrough of Say no Uta. I've been absorbing it in bits and pieces (the synopsis style active tense puts me off a bit, and there were some slower parts), but the final stretch of climax had me glued to the television. Unsurprisingly, being a hopeless romantic, I chose to keep him crazy, so they could be happy together. Awww. *sniff* I wish I could find an abomination of my very own. What I expected to be a dark and twisted story turned into a sweeping testament to the power of love. It was a profound and moving drama depicting two. . . people's (?) willingness to overcome their differences, both worldly and personal, to come together in the face of adversity. Oh, and there's cannibalism. And surprisingly, for an eroge, it actually had less graphic underage sex than a George Martin novel. By which I mean both less graphic, and fewer. A lot less incest too. It was about as dark though. Delightfully warped and macabre, and I loved the tone of the ending. (I'm expecting the others to follow similarly! ) But really, given some of the sadistic rape, the fact that there's a female on the entire planet that would even READ it, let alone recommend it is really arou surprising. It's. . . pretty out there.

I chose the obvious answer! With a choice of living in an ugly world with love, or in a boring ordinary world alone, who wouldn't choose the same? *kicked for being a sappy girly libra. . . again* I kept archived saves at the decisions, so I plan to go back and see the rest when I find time. As for the rape, I certainly didn't enjoy it, as some of the stranger eroge fans would (I'm not particularly kinky; a girlfriend once asked me to tie her up, I replied, "why, you're not trying to escape?" ), but it didn't really bother me, either--I've written worse. I just find it surprising a woman wouldn't mind (most of my female friends would have been appalled by the entire VN!). Karura=oddball (it's a compliment!)

LOL! ALL of Type-MOON´s PC visual novels are eroges (with the exception of the upcoming Mahoutsukai no Yoru), in case you didn´t know that either HEY, HOLD ON, does that include Fate Hollow Ataraxia?? (Its just that Wikipedia doesn list it as such) and for what you say, that would also include Fate Zero, rigth? (Damm laptop keyboard wont input slash) Not that im complaining that is an eroge though.

Finished Saya no Uta. I actually hope they DO make it into an anime. I can only imagine what some good directing could do with the creepy ambiance and dark tension. And I don't doubt they would give us a lot more Ryouko, in all her badassness. also, I find it quite strange that the happiest ending was an apocalypse. It was just really. . . sweet. *sniffle* I definitely have utter faith in anything by Gen Urobuchi now. I'll have to look into Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom when I'm caught up on anime.

So finally Finished reading Fate/Stay Night (All 3 paths) Yeah, loved it. After finishing Heaven´s Feel, its hard to tell which Scenario is my favorite. The Fate scenario certainly has my favorite girl as the main Heroine (Saber), Shirou and Archer´s clash of ideals and Shriou´s and their fight was awesome. and heaven´s feel twist all of the previous things in all other paths, reveals the truth of Sakura past, makes Kirei a more interesting villain, i don't know, he was really interesting, a villain with no real goal. But, if there is one thing i disliked about Heaven´s feel..........was Saber Alter, i was hoping that for the least, even if they would fight to death anyway, one emotional moment which Shirou, JUST ONE, and COMING from her, is that something hard to ask?, is even worse that i just read that it was actually Saber herself that accepted the contract with Angra Manyu, just in order to win the holy grail instead of being consumed by it (Please, someone tell me this is a lie and that Saber was consumed instead).
EDIT: After thinking a bit, it was just asumption on the person who said that, there is no moment in the VN in which is stated, neither is hinted, for all the reader could know, Saber was consumed by the shadow But, leaving that aside, yeah, with all their diferences, its hard to tell which is my favorite route
