ok, i've to say too, this boss is ridiculous, seriously -.-' i'm playing in nightmare mode, and the boss itself is not so difficult, the problem is when he rotates the tiles, sometimes he rotates ALL of them, you can go nowhere, the only thing you can do is wait, and it would be fine, just jump and avoid his attack in that little angle of the screen, but most of the time he kill me because while i'm on the my sweet little angle counting the flames that run around me, he rushes at me, and i can go NOWHERE, i like difficult boss, but i really don't like attack that cannot be avoided, and in this case i've 2 choises, one is letting he kill me, the other is suiciding me on the reversed tiles... i hate it -.-' i want a way to avoid it -.-' It may be considered "cheating", but as I recall, there's a bug that will allow you to escape damage by activating Boost Mode right as an attack is about to hit you (as well as deal 1 point of damage, but that's pretty much a non-issue). In this case, you'd want to activate it right as he's about to collide with you. A more "legitimate" tactic would be to charge the Wind Bracelet, jumping right as the bridge pieces are shooting up, and releasing the Wind magic at the height of the jump. Even with these tips, I still found this particular fight to be quite tough on Nightmare, especially during Time Attack.

And I didn't even try this fight yet. =/ I'm curious as hell.
By the way, not sure if this may help, but during Hero Mode, the damage you take is halved. And, if you're hit while you cast the Fire Magic (not sure about Wind Magic), damage is halved too (so if you get hit on that occasion when Hero Mode is activated, the damage you take will be 4 times lower). And naturally, don't forget you're invulnerable while you cast the Earth Magic.
Aside those, I don't have much to suggest for now, unfortunately. xD ... Oh. Well, perhaps you also could look for videos of that boss fight on Nightmare on YouTube to see if anyone came up with really good strategies or something.

i've beated that boss some day ago, but it's not been a question of knowing how to beat it, but just luck, since he never tried to attack me while all the tiles were flipped, so i could kill it for one time, what will give me some problem will be the time attack probably
now i've a problem with the next boss, the one in the quary, i can beat easely the first part, the second part if one pay enough attention is not so difficult, the problem is when it goes down the 500HP, it uses to charge up, and rushes at me, that is quite unavoidable, i've only avoided it one time till now, and it does really massive damage, even considering i'm equipped with the 4th armor, i really don't know how to avoid it
i've seen some videos, but in all of them they kill the boss too quickly, so for both this boss, and the previous, i couldn't find a way to avoid those attacks :\

If that's the boss I'm thinking of (been a while since I've played the game, sorry), then that attack is really hard to avoid on Nightmare if you don't have a lot of distance between you and the boss before it starts rushing you. Of course, you might try that Boost Mode trick to try and get a "free pass", but if I recall correctly, he charges you more than once before settling down.
Alternatively, you could try activating Boost Mode just before he gets low enough on HP, and see if you can finish him off before he can start that attack.

yeah, i've killed that boss some day ago, the trick was that when he uses that attack it doesn't rush at you, but at the point it's looking at, understanding this, has solved really much the problem, that attack is still difficult to avoid, and it attacks with it 2 or 3 times in a row, but knowing at least how to avoid it is good
now i'm on the big problem: CHESTER 2 i've started the fight thinking "eheheh, now i know how to fight you, just when you use that strong attack, i'll avoid it, and while you are still there, i will kick your ass", then the fight start, i avoid his firts shoots of fireballs, then he charges the strong attack, and me:"eheheh, now it's the right tim... hey, w-w-wait, what is that fucking barrier, i should attack you now, you can't put on that thing right now", after that he kicked my ass... :\ btw trying and trying i've take him to 2000 hp, he starts with someting like 5200, but he is still too strong, and i have to find other ways to attack him :\

i was trying to beat the game on very easy with the first sword, shield and armor for all the game, and without levelling with common enemies(only fighting the boss), but i should give up now that i've arrived to valestein, it's been just a pain to beat gildias doing 1 damage for all the battle, but i can't beat death faleon and the rest of the boss doing always 1 damage, i've equipped the third sword(i don't have the second one XD) and have moved on :\ sob

Tbh, if you know your boss patterns and strats and considering that you still get a lot of levels by just beating bosses doing very easy with starting equip shouldn't be a problem. So I am assuming you are fighting the bosses inefficiently. Which one do you have problems with? Faleon still?
As for Chester on Nightmare, if he has more than half HP you can just dodge him until he uses his stab, then combo him 4 times and finish with earth magic in his direction. Most of the time he will just use his circle burst and you can jump over it back in and slash him. He WILL hit you a bit though. Or, if you aren't too high on levels and want to avoid all damage, just earth magic away from him after your 4 hits. once he drops below half HP just boost mode whenever you can (not only to attack, also when he dashes around. It reduces his damage a LOT and that is very helpful) and dodge his blasts. Note that randomly jumping around is NOT a good idea. Try to jump away in a 90° angle from the triple blasts, if needed you can also use two air slashes to get out of bad positions.
