I've finally got the game Falcom somehow forgot my order, but they still honored it last week. But, I have no idea how to reliably perform Special Attacks With Hugo I can pull them off semi-reliable by tapping a direction + attack button like crazy. As for Yunica, it only happens randomly when I don't want to. Is there some kind of trick to make it easier to perform? I'm using a PS2 gamepad for the game.

Sounds like the attacks where you tap the thumbstick beforehand. The ones that lower the enemy's defense. My only advice is practice. Try different timings b/w presses, too.

Yeah, I'm talking about those attacks, sorry for the confusion. IIRC they were actually called Special Attacks on the tutorial splash screen. I'm able to pull them off now. The movement is tilt, wait a split second longer than you'd think you should, hit attack. I usually screw up the final part, kinda hard to keep cool when the enemy is right in front of you. Practice was indeed the only way out, sadly . The game is REALLY awesome though, just went into the fire zone. The Velguandar and that worm thingy were incredibly fun to fight! And as expected the music is great too, even though I didn't care much for another remix of Tower of the Shadow of Death (Dawn of Ys had the definite version of that song imo). Super Arrange Version Silent Desert has become one of my favorite Ys songs, can't wait to hear the in-game version!
