Livart is pretty much right before you stop spinning/when you glow the most, though either indicator is hard to work with. Timing for the first spin doesn't matter, but each one after should be the same until you reach the maximum of five. It's a pain to get down IMO. I still can't get it working every time I want to.

What you need to do, is picture a metronome in your mind. Everytime it ticks, you press the button. It's roughly every beat at a default tempo. I hope that makes sense. I get it right about 90% of the time. // You can also count out loud, and when you finish saying one/two/three/four/five, you hit that attack button. I say them all at roughly the same tempo/duration so it's really quite easy.

There's the first three slashes, followed by five spins. Add those together, and you have eight. That's probably what you're thinking. // I wish someone would hack it so that you can keep comboing after the fifth spin. I love spinning, and I get bummed out because they make you stop after five.

Ok, so I hope this helps. The first paragraph is not important "this is a super duper hard technique to pull off bla bla bla".

Sorry, I did it already! I somehow managed to come up with a way of doing it easily! I even managed to perform the dash jump ten times in a row, without making a single mistake inbetween the jumps! That was satisfying! So I got all the items. And completed the game. Read every single piece of dialogue, ever. It took a long, long time. Ys VI contains a lot more text than you might think! My testing is now finished, and I hope that Doppiapunta will release the patch shortly after this.

So tell me -
What the hell is in that chest in the under-water part at the end of the caves ?
I'm betting you have to do a @#$%ing dash jump to make it up on that @#$%ing pillar, don't you.

I got that one too. It really WAS the easiest thing to get, that required the dash jump. Although I DID get it last - when I had already mastered the jump like a master who can master something.

Wow I'm such a dork. I just had a dream earlier today where I had to dash jump (as a real person!) to make it to this one platform. There were four switches on it and we were in a party of 10 and I laughed at some of the other people who fell because they fell When enough people got there we all stepped on the switches at once and a bonus boss by the name of Cyber Galva Roa popped up >_> I wish I didn't wake up from the cold right then because it would've been cool to see how we would've fought it

Were there any red headed swordsman with you?

Unfortunately, no, no fictional characters whatsoever aside from the monsters themselves >_>
One person decided to show off though and stab his sword into the concrete before landing and vaulted off of it right onto one of the switches. So surreal D:

Its kinda easy once you know how to do it.... was using a ps2 controller so its easy. I can do it consecutive times when i practice... but when it comes to doing a real jump i fail 4/5 times lol Glad there are only few times you really need to use it... I'm guessing there's also a dash jump in Oath? Are there more dungeons there that require this?

Nope, its not necessary. Most people felt the technique was a hamper to the gameplay, and I am sure the Japanese fans voiced it just as much as we did.

they did away with everything that involved timed button presses, instead basing everything on skill. Um.... shoot me if I'm wrong, but it takes skill to perform the Dash Jump. I always thought they took it out because most fans had a tough time performing it. Wouldn't that be the opposite of basing everything on skill?
