How was the battle system? I gotta admit, I've been pretty wary of jumping back on the Final Fantasy bandwagon after everything between 10 and 12. But... the last videos and trailers of how the battles looked really started to sway me towards the, "Woah, I have to get this" side of things. Does it feel more fast paced and action-y, or they just really flashy? Yeah, it does. The commands window is relatively small so the 'no waiting' system is fine (I had visions of trying to speedscroll down menus whenever I wanted to do anything). There are still things I'd like changed (it's annoying having a whole separate menu for just healing when your black magic gets slotted with your regular attacks, for example, Snow's aerial attacks are incredibly weak, magic is quite weak generally, and while you can withdraw commands when executing them if you don't intervene you just attack thin air until they run out if an enemy is dead) but it's definitely promising.

Wow. That was fast. The videos were removed cuz SquEnix came along and said "NO."
Oh, well. Quite a few of them are still around.

Sounds good to me. As does the battle music, speaking of sound! The only question is what platform to buy when the game hits shelves next year?

Apparently from a good respected sextacular source the battle system was simplified for the demo version for a lot faster gameplay, and people could quickly try it, so all the characters will be controllable. They just wanted people to try it out on the demo, I guess.

Per your comment on BL, and my own retrospective musings, I probably will wind up getting it for the PS3. It's getting Versus exclusively, too, which also looks pretty awesome. :)
ALAS, that is not why I am here. I must reveal the english dub for FFXIII to my broduskis at ALoY.
(just in case: maybe nsfw for swearing n such)
Well, not seriously. But I had a good laugh at it, haha.

Funny how many people seem to be saying that, hehe. Though I have to admit, a whole game like that would be pretty amusing. :D

Nothing on new trailers to talk about but just caught this on RPGFan (even though it was from a few days ago):
"We also learned that Vanille uses a fishing rod as weapon. The hook attached to the rod's wire serves as the primary damage dealer in this curious setup."

Vanille is so cool (it seems), and that makes her even cooler(apparently). "Eat my justice, evil doers! Justice of FISHING!"
I'm personally super excited for the game. I didn't get excited for FFXII, or any of those spinoffs (except, Dissidia looks AMAZING) but THIS looks awesome.

Holy shit that was hilarious. "Maybe if you spent less time unzipping all your shirts!"

I got the demo (From Zoelius), and I've run through it a few times this year, and I have to say I kind of like the battle system. If Smithee is right, and the final speed for the battle system is slower, I may be upset. Hopefully SqE will leave an option to pump the speed up, because it gets so frantic that its fun. Also, the game looks damn good on an HD tv.

I think the speed, in the demo's case has more to do with the control and such. It'll probably run at the same speed, but you can control your party members and such in the full game (if I remember, you cannot in the demo?).
Another cool thing is that apparently it is really hard, even though you get full health and stuff after battles. That's really nice to hear.

No you can't control your party members, but I found they were pretty smart. They would set enemies up for air attacks, heal when needed, and always ready to attack when an enemy went red. I hope its damn hard, because Final Fantasy has a habit of being too easy.

Yeah, that was why it becomes slower. It is still the same pace otherwise, I'm pretty sure. So no worries there Which character are you most excited for? I'm pretty much totally hyped for anyone except Hope, but Zasz (sp?), Vanille, and Snow all look totally rad. And, Lightening seems decent but basically just a "bad-ass type", like KOS-MOS or something.

To be honest I've been closed off from the rest of the content. I don't want to spoil anymore as it leaves much more to be surprised about. I like Lightning, but she is kind of a Cloud with boobs you know?
Also, the ability to controls your party seems pretty neat, but Ill probably set them to auto. That is if SqE is nice enough to program an auto function in.

Hey, I've only heard this from my brother, and the odd news I've picked up from Siliconera! Ahahaha. Cloud with boobs? Better than Cloud without, y'know?

Seriously though, Nomura was told to make a female version of Cloud as the lead character. Look at the demo too, its got this magic colliding with crazy technology, and the whole world has this very neon aesthetic. It reminds me of 7 so much, which is why I'm sure SqE decided not to go ahead with a 7 remake for PS3.

I'm sure SqE decided not to go ahead with a 7 remake for PS3 Nice to see more people enjoy demo what do you think about new trailers for Agito and versus ? I'm sure SqE decided not to go ahead with a 7 remake for PS3. Well most of FF7 devs are busy with FF Versus XIII and It seems like they are working on New IP next to it . Also SqE Officially Announced FF7ACC is last project on FF7 universe for now

That doesn't surprise me though, I don't think the Compilation of Final Fantasy Seven made very much money.
I think Versus looks absolutely stunning, and I'm a bit more excited for it than the main game. Agito looks pretty cool too, but its a PSP title so I'm a little down on it. I really need to score a 2000 or 3000.
