Aside from Adol and Dogi, I think Geis could be pretty fun to play as.
One of the more random characters I thought of was Emilio attacking with his pikkard friends. XD

No one wants to play as Terra? XD I'd try to get her killed next to Lilia. DOUBLE KILL! 50,000 points!

I always thought Emilio was a girl, until I played the PS2 version years later.
I was shocked.

Emilio is totally a guy's name. =[
Also, you may be shocked that I haven't suggested Zalem yet. This is because she'd be unstoppable by all non-Human Buzzsaws.

Tarf. I mean what a badass... He'd lay waste to everyone and everything. Actually though, I wouldn't mind playing as the Felghana version of Chester. That'd be pretty fun I'd imagine. -Thomas

Oh hey, Emilio with Pikkards would be AWESOME. There was also a little girl that hung out with Pikkards in Ys II Eternal/Complete as well! They could tag-team! :DDDD
Oh, and a d00de in Ys Eternal/I Complete had a pikkard pen too. It'd be a TRIPLE-ATTACK!!!!
Luther Genma should be playable as well! He'd have a special sleepwalk move that allows him to go around the map without getting noticed by monsters. Of course, when he wakes up, the effect is gone. :3

I suspect that by multiplayer they mean actual party dynamics (sort of like what Dawn had with Karna but better). I very much doubt that they'll have a huge pool of familiar faces to play as.
That being said, if we could play as anyone from past games Karna would top my list. Depending on which version you play she either beats the crap out of bad guys with her fists or a dinky little knife and still manages to do much better than Adol. Still hoping for a remake of IV one of these days...

I seem to remember thinking that as well, until one of the other characters referred to Emilio as a "he"... Oh hey, Emilio with Pikkards would be AWESOME. Is it multiplayer cooperative? Or deathmatch? Terra, Olha, Lilia, Elena vs Dogi, Tarf, Silva, That Cat

That Cat. xD Awesome.
Well, we don't know how it's going to be. xD But I desperately wish for a Co-op Story Mode of sorts.

Was anyone really surprised with the DS games though? That was a slapdash port by a third party of a game that was never intended for any kind of multi-player, of course it's going to be a lame score attack game.

How would that work on the PSP though, Wyrdwad? I don't own a PSP... yet, but I know that there are some DS games that allow for multi-player games over Nintendo's servers such as Mario Kart DS and that wonderful amazing little online battle mini-game for Zelda Phantom Hourglass. I was wondering if PSP offered the same type of thing. If they made a co-op/battle mode for Ys 7, would we say, be able to play each other here at ALOY? That would be great!
The DS version of Ys offered a battle mode for Ys II, but you would have to know someone within the immediate proximity with another DS who'd be willing to play it. Not many of my local friends have DS systems and even fewer have gotten into Ys, despite my many attempts to covert them. : )

Hmmm... as far as I know, the PSP doesn't have that same feature like that, but... its Wireless LAN has a pretty good reach. I know that since Japan is so populous, you can just sit in some bar, turn on your PSP and the WLAN, then choose someone to play with.
But I hope there's a way to play online. xD

Even worse is the region barrier -- iirc, you can't play a multiplayer game with someone who has a cartridge with a different region.

Hah, that will be interesting. xD I'll look forward to this, and see if I can change my connection to a wireless one in the meantime. xD

For PSP and PS3 owners Is it useful to use Adhoc party as option(especially for Ys 7) for co-op with anyone from other country ? is it laggy ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnHKvAsJw9A

It seems to be very viable, but lag is naturally to be expected. xD

Some characters from Legend of Heroes series as bonus would be nice. My picks are Geld the white witch, Lowe, and Agate. As for characters from Ys, the twin goddesses.
