Going with Seldane's logic, I want Falcom to go FURTHER back in time with cute pixelly sprites from Ys IV: Mask of the Sun! *__*
But then, if it were like this, it'd just end up being released on the DS or something. :o

Don't apologise to Seldane! Keep showering Seldane in the name Seldane until he has no choice but to accept the damn name Seldane back.

Wow, a lot has been going on in my absence. Apparently some new member is here, but I can't see their posts for some reason. Everybody keeps referring to them so I am sure they're here. Seems to be a cool dood though. Almost too cool. Better ban it.

XD Took me a while to get it. xD I'm so slow at times... I want an engine where Adol kicks evil in the nuts. With a cameo of Dogi, the Ball-Crusher. That'd be epic!

Considering the current trend of making games that feel retro but aren't I'd say a return to 2D sprites and the good old bump system wouldn't be completely unthinkable. And it would certainly make me feel less annoyed by the move to PSP.

You're right, I forgot about IV and V, but IV - nor Legend of Xanadu I, which was by NEC - wasn't even made by Falcom, so meh. I didn't see anyone else address this, but, Legend of Xanadu 1 was indeed programmed by Falcom themselves. NEC was the publisher only! So, Falcom did make 3 games, purely for consoles, 2 of those games being Turbo Grafx games, rock on!

The Playstation Portable is a black hole that absorbs all good video game related ideas until one day a few years from now it'll collapse in on itself, taking them all with it, never to be heard from again.

To be honest, I'm not surprised that its on PSP. The PSP is currently one of the highest selling systems in Japan outselling the DS at times and the number of game announcements the PSP has been getting is crazy.
Since we don't have data on how well their PC games sell, it's hard to compare, but since Falcom has been constantly supporting the PSP, it's safe to say that they are quite satisfied with the sales.

Wyrdwad: Zwei 2 being choppy has nothing to do with it "having too good graphics". It's an optimization issue. It has to be a very poorly programmed game. I played it on a computer with an old Geforce 6800 video card, which is a very bad and old card (from 2005), but I had all the settings on max, and the resolution 1680x1050, and it ran rather smoothly, only some slight choppiness and tearing.
When I equipped that very same computer with a new video card - a modern Geforce 9800 GT model, which is at least 200% faster than the old one (probably a lot more though) and there were ZERO differences. ZERO! (Or actually, I might imagine this but it seems that the game got even more choppy.)
I have also tried it on my own personal computer, which has very powerful hardware all over, but it WILL not run smoothly, whatever I do. And I can play Crysis, the most demanding pc game ever, on max settings and get smooth frame rates on this!
So Zwei 2 has isssues. Which is too bad, because it would be so neat to play that game with a constant 60+ fps, with v-sync enabled.

Yeah, Seldane's actually right here. There's one boss late on in particular that just slaughters every PC I try it on to about the same degree, despite pretty large difference in specs.
