Well, Konami's OZ did three characters/one player/Action RPG very well. It can be done. Just a thought. I have no specific thoughts on the system until I can play it. Yeah, and IIRC, the ally AI wasn't morbidly idiotic like it was in Star Ocean 3. And what's with all this haranguing about the misspelling of "friends"? I would take it that the screenshots are not even of the final product so they probably haven't gone through much QA and stuff yet. :P They'll probably (maybe .... hopefully ....) catch the error. I wonder if the game will include downloadable content like extra dungeons, items, etc.???? *______* We'd probably need one memory stick dedicated to Ys Seven if this happened though. XD

If you're a game "completist" like myself, this game ought to give you a lot of headache. There are LOTS of secret rooms that are hidden behind walls and usually there's absolutely no hint at all for you to find them: the only way to find them all is by always walking against ALL the walls from the whole game. xDDD Since I don't want other people to go through the same pain I am, I was taking screenshots of every one of these locations... What makes those hidden areas and items even worse is that many of them do not have any functions at all. As much as Ys II is special, playing it is asking for whole new level of pain even with the knowledge of Korean. Only recommended for masochists. Heheh, that's true. But very rarely there are indeed useful items in these rooms... well, the best example is the God's Diary, which enables you to save the game anywhere and not just in the INNs. [...]Tengai Makyou collection, PC Engine collection[...] ... WHAT?! 0_0 *runs to research* [...]Doesn't matter if it's on a toaster, Ys 7 is gonna be awesome[...] Soooo... I think the scans look good. Pretty pretty good!! Ofcourse, that might just be because I'm somehow so very incredibly excited about it, that... Falcom could actually just plop down a game of rocks-paper-scissors with a picture of Adol next to it, and I'd still go 'Wheeee~!'. X'D In a way the scene of all three of them running together in the town kind of reminds me of Sonic Heroes a bit and in my mind I see this scenario: Adol: "Dogi! I need to you bust down that wall!" Dogi: "You got it Adol! *SMASH* Adol: "An enemy in a tower is just ahead!" Aisha: "No Problem! *Shoots Bow and Arrow* xDDD By the way, I'm thinking the boss battles will be Adol only. In a form or another, I expect Falcom will do it well.

The models remind me of Ys 6 for PS2, which leaves me a bitter feeling. Looks like my expectation for this game have drop considerably. Oh well at least there might be a chance of a english release.

*whew* just finished reading all 6 pages of this thread lol I don't know how to feel about this one...So far, it looks "ok", BUT, like someone else said, once the first trailer is released THAT'S when we will know if we should be even more pissed....or maybe a little relieved It doesn't surprise me that it's on the PSP, since another little game known as Dragon Quest IX went the same route and went straight to the portable market (the DS). Whether it's a good move or not remains to be seen, but until a video surfaces, I shall remain skeptical... As for Ys I-II Chronicles...yeah, it seems like milking it, but I wish they had just released this and not let Interchannel do the DS remake. This seems like an exact port of the PC version plus new artwork and soundtracks. This would have been great to play on the go and have it in English (Play at home? Great PC translation....Play on the go? Great PSP translation!) however, I don't really know if Atlus (or maybe some other company) would want to release yet another Ys I-II port for a portable system. Hopefully I'm wrong, but who knows....

Everyone else: Just wait 'til there's a trailer or 'til we get more information before you declare that the bosses will inevitably suck and the game's not going to be any good! SHEESH!! Seriously, don't you guys have any faith in the good people of Falcom at all? They know how to make good games, and I have no doubt in my mind that this will be one of them. -Tom ^^ He speaketh the truth! Wait until we at least have a trailer...THEN we can start bitchin! As for Tengai Makyo on the PSP, I own the PSP port of Tengai Makyo IV (as well as the Saturn version) and, as previously stated, it is pretty much perfect. Why couldn't Atlus translate THAT??

Ys 7 is becoming more RPGish then it is Action ish from what I can deduce thus far, but knowing Flacom Im sure it will be a good transition, plus you don't know until actual game play footage is out. The only thing Im very very very very (times 10 to the infinite) dissapointed in is the artwork... its ugly... butt ugly very very ugly.. and it makes me go green, I just really abhor it for some reason, I cant stand it T_T I think its cuz the artwork reminds me of Ys 3,4,5 Taito disaster remakes for some reason... yea definitely that >=<

I like Origins, I just hate that the whole game being in Darm's tower. If the game allows you to travel to other places , I would probably enjoy it a lot more. Atmosphere can make a game much more enjoyable. And I like the removal of Adol as well, I prefer using someone else in a while .

You know if you didnt like Origin so much, you should try its younger brother called BRANDISH the Dark revenant, cuz it kicks ghetto gluteous maximuses , at times I find it even BETTER then Ys.. YEA.. you heard me.. BETTER... then.. Ys.. dont get mad and be at ease okies people, Brandish is THAT good it makes my eyes tear up (tears of JOY) just thinking about it.

A lot of Japanese fans didn't like Ys Origin. Lol, indeed they did not. I noticed in the Ys 7 thread on 2ch a lot of people still like to pretend it doesn't exist. Which is funny, cus like I said earlier in the thread Felghana and Origin are the peak of the series for me. So I tended to ignore those opinions Actually playing as new characters was one of the best bits, because Adol is a boring silent protagonist whereas Yunica, Hugo and Claw actually got character development! Which was fantastic.

...Are we even thinking of the same Brandish here? Because what I've played of the PSP version is average at best.
