Hiya Been having quite a few problem with the english patch for AoN and i just can't seem to figure out the problem. my PC is Vista My AoN version is Vista (Current Patch 1.3.0.5) So when installing the English patch from the link on top of Ancient land of Ys the files are not actually going inside Ys6 folder and this seem or maybe the problem. So the only thing i can think of doing is copy and pasting them into the main folder, i've click on the batch file which brings up a small black screen and words ect.. which then allows my config to be translated into english... now for the other problem... My game (instead of japanese) is now jibberish writing?? really need some help here i know im doing something wrong but i really don't know what. EDIT: Forgot to mention!! in the READ ME Section : - it askes that i make sure to have these two files config_dx9.exe and ys6_win_dx9.exe I cant find them anywhere in the ys6 folder before and after downloading the patch. Thanks for any help (gonna need it) lol

I had this exact same problem running under the same circumstances you are (Vista etc)
First, in order to ensure that the game doesn't appear as gibberish the install must be 100% clean, meaning once you install it - patch it immediately, do not start the game up at all. Starting the game in Japanese, then patching it is what causes the game to appear in gibberish.
As for the patch files being applied to the wrong folder, yes, the right idea is to copy/paste them into the YS6_WIN folder, and then running that batch script. Also, in the C: root folder where the patch files were placed in error, you will find a folder called RELEASE, make sure you copy the contents of this folder into the YS6_WIN/RELEASE folder and run that batch script as well.
As for the dx9.exe files, those you have to manually copy from the Napishtim disc itself. The readme outlines the correct filepath to retrieve them from. Make sure you copy these into the YS6_WIN folder before running the batch script so that they get patched as well.

Glad I was able to help you get everything working, dood. It was frustrating for me to figure out what exactly kept going wrong when I did it even with doppi's help, so I'm glad I could spare you that misery, haha. Enjoy the game!

Sorry for this inconvenience. i discovered some time ago that the installpath under Vista isn't the same as for XP. I fixed the problem by makin' the installer check the OS and to check for the right instal key value in the registry., Unforntunately i didn't uload this updated version yet. Sorry for this. I'll try to upload it as soon as possible. Thank you
