Very nice in-depth analysis of the game. Dreaming was also one of my favorite tunes in Ys Eternal I just beat Ys I Eternal on nightmare awhile ago, I thought you beat both Ys I and II. Looks like u got the head start, I'll try catch up and try my luck on Ys II nightmare

I'd rather chew my own arm off than fight Vagullion on nightmare.

Wow, that's some good stuff on the finer differences. About this one: - I have yet to see if this is also present in the other Ys I remakes but there's also another bug which is slightly bad: when you move from a screen to another, Adol will freeze. The thing is, the enemies WON'T. This can get you killed in the higher difficulties, because the enemies run very fast. So, say, let's suppose you went out to the fields to get the Gold Pedestal, then a Rheboll started chasing you. He almost has your speed in Nightmare. So you run away and he follows you. You exit the screen,... but since Adol stops moving and the Rheboll doesn't, he hits you. This is what happened to me, and more than twice, and I died in most of the cases. xD Note that Adol dies in the next screen, where there are no enemies (I THINK the difference there from the remakes is that Adol does not freeze when the screen starts fading away, and the new one loads. I will test it later); I can confirm this to be present in Ys I Complete for the PC too. It happened to me 2 days ago when I was replaying it to 'celebrate' the PSP release. Luckily, I survived with a few HP left.

I nominate Vagullion as the hardest boss on nightmare for Ys I Eternal. I'm surprised I even beat him last night.

I'd rather chew my own arm off than fight Vagullion on nightmare. Play on wussy Normal mode! :DDDDDD But man, if Vagullion is horrible, then what will the final boss be like!? *shivers* *shudders* *falls over dead*

Being a fan of Ys I II. I personally think Ys I II is falcom's greatest work out of all Ys games. I played most versions and triumphed over them.

I had a hard enough time with Jenocres, considering I'm basically a rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth, caffeine-addicted, "GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO" kind of gamer. Though one level up enabled me to three-shot his sissy ass. That reminds me, I still need to finish I and move on to II. I am a bad boy.

I can beat Jenocres with both legs tied behind my back and a blind fold with an apple in my mouth. Try That!

Luckily, I survived with a few HP left. Ah, good to know, thanks. That's bad, for the remakes. xD I nominate Vagullion as the hardest boss on nightmare for Ys I Eternal. I'm surprised I even beat him last night. I had more problems beating Dark Fact actually. Though in that fight, someone goes down fast, either him or you. Against Vagullion, the only one who can go down fast is you. xD Oh, and it is an analogue nubThanks for letting me know. xD And don't worry, I know you pointed it out to help me. =s I knew something was wrong with "rub". xDD Let's use the PSP to erase some grafitti. Analog NUB Got it. Also: - You can skip the talk with both Roda Trees by pressing Start, even if it's the first time you talk to them. Thank God. @_@ - You can't use or even do anything during a Wing animation, including pause. This could be done in Ys I COMPLETE at least (I know it can't be done in Ys ETERNAL). There was a minor exploitable thing that korzic found out in Ys I COMPLETE, but it can no longer be done (However, since you can always skip the Roda Tree conversations, it doesn't really matter anyway =p); About the latter, it actually does matter, now that I think about it... well, korzic knows why. xD By the way, about the former paragraph, there is a chance this is not possible if you choose the COMPLETE artworks when you start a new game. I will test it later. I'll also do some extra testing to see if I also didn't do anything that had let me skip the Roda Tree conversation in the "Chronicles" artwork mode.

lol are you serious? I had fun with Dark Fact... maybe its because I know how to beat him idk. I didn't find him that hard actually. Just gotta stay ahead of him and anticipate his moves. I like the vocal ending of Morning Glow by the way, very nice.

ran around wildly? lol, sounds like you relied on luck... Dark Fact is seriously not that hard. I mean, its not like I beat him every single time I fought him. You just have to try stay ahead of him and anticipate where he will fly towards next and try not to block yourself in. I found it fun and challenging
