Yes, that's my opinion exactly. The thing is, I find it harder to assure victory against Dark Fact. That's what I meant. I mean, to beat Vagullion, you only need patience... it may be LOADS of patience, but that's it. xD As I said in the Spam thread, I defeated Vagullion on my first serious try, but Dark Fact took me 20 tries or so. (Though since Vagullion's battle takes so long, I think I could have defeated Dark Fact 10 times each time I fought Vagullion. xD) Also, I fully agree on the vocal ending that played! Mind you though, it wasn't Morning Glow/Grow. It was the music that plays in the credits... "See You Again", was it? Anyway, yeah, it was beaaaautiful. *.*

I would have to agree with Red Hairdo. From what I've heard so far, the music has been absolutely amazing! Some of the best versions of the Ys I & II soundtrack I've ever heard. It's just so incredibly perfect! : ) Best Ys arrangements ever!
I really want Falcom to release an album for this if they have not already!

Nope I just created the save file myself. We are even. Though if it's about speedrunning this game, korzic will beat us hard. xD Also, Skye, I would totally purchase the OST if it was released. It's a masterpiece.

You can't hit Vagullion at the start of the battle. You can't even move Adol when it starts. Also you don't leave footprints in the sand. I really love this game though and hope it gets localized

I had a hard enough time with Jenocres, considering I'm basically a rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth, caffeine-addicted, "GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO" kind of gamer. Though one level up enabled me to three-shot his sissy ass. AHAHAHA~! That's EXACTLY what I did. XD Now the problem is that I'm almost maxed out on levels so levelling to beat bosses isn't really going to help anymore. XD XD

Also, did anyone notice on the Mini OST that To Make the End of Battle is a super-long extended version? It's incredible...much longer and more dramatic than the in-game song, and it has a CRAZY explosive ending to the song! GIMME GIMME!~ All I have is a rip of the soundtrack. nunuu: Yyyyyep. I was pretty surprised when I learned that the max level in Ys I is 10. So you pretty much never level up for the entirety of Darm Tower. Yay. :<

I agree with everyone here. Also, korzic, I do highly believe the levels remained just like COMPLETE. Actually, if I recall correctly, of all Ys I versions, the only one which Adol could get to a level above 10 is the PCE/TCD version. ... Maybe the X68000 version also had more levels (I do recall HP gets as high as 999), but I guess that's it. =s By the way, in most Ys II versions, the maximum level is around the twenties. However, in Ys II ETERNAL, Ys II COMPLETE and likely in Ys II Chronicles and Ys II DS, it is that different, enabling you to get to level 55. And level 99 in Ys II ETERNAL STORY and Ys II Special. XD I forgot to correct myself about something here. PS2 version of Ys I = Maximum level is above 10. It was 25 or so. Also, I agree with adoru about the musical stuff! By the way, I never knew "See You Again" ever had a variation song! Kind of like "Theme of Adol" and "A Boy Who Had Wings (or something)" from Ys III, I guess.

I can't trust a ~24fps video to judge what will (presumably) be a 30fps game engine personally. I'll just wait and see.
Hopefully with the PSP version being at the forefront Falcom will have full widescreen support for later versions too.

I don't think a low base framerate is an issue so much as it being unstable and constantly hitching though, that much I do believe.

That trailer DID definitely look a lot smoother than what I saw of Ys I & II Chronicles on my PSP. I just rewatched the trailer, shortly after playing Ys II PSP.

I got mine from here. Be warned though, you'll be downloading all three versions with that pack.

Ehh, it's pretty worthwhile to register there anyway; it's where I got the majority of my game OSTs. Nice selection, I only had trouble finding very recent soundtracks.

If I'd known we could get away with just posting links I would've done that in the first place

Thanks for posting the links. I was really hoping to find a rip of the soundtrack and *Poof!* There is was! : )
Just in time too, because our closet really needs some serious cleaning and now I'll have some serious shit-kick'n-closet-cleaning-truck'n music. : )
Prepare yourself, Dark Fleece Jacket!

Ok, I need help. I reached Dahm in Ys II Chronicles but I'm busy trying to max out the stats. Where is the fastest place to level up? or is there one???
I know for sure 100% in Ys Eternal Story. The best place to level up was defeating those two guards just outside Ramia Villiga before entering Solomon Shrine, but this isnt the case for chronicles.... they barely even give any exp.

O: New balancing! Hmm, I just run around in Shrine of Solomon, in a pattern until it becomes standard for my brain and enjoy the music! Try it!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but the Chronicles version of OverDrive sounds a lot like the YsO SAV version, only without the organs.

The best place to level up was defeating those two guards just outside Ramia Villiga before entering Solomon Shrine, but this isnt the case for chronicles.... they barely even give any exp. Do you know that section of Solomon Shrine in which there is both that Palace of the Goddesses and that place where Maria was in? (Campanile of Lane or something.) Stay there. Also, yeah. xD I recall the two guards at the entrance of Solomon Shrine: in ETERNAL STORY, each one of them gave you 3333 EXP per kill. I think Darm himself gave 3000, even. Though they certainly were much harder than Darm. =_=' It also doesn't help that they resisted to ALL sword skills. Except the Hyper Cutter, which helped you dodge attacks, but that's because the skill applies to the player... Oh, and the STUN ability too! But CRITICAL or KILL wouldn't, so unless you could damage them, it was useless. In compensation, I recall I could only start even damaging them on Level 54 or so (it also depends of the equipment). And they would kill me in one or two hits, when my HP was full. @_@ Though back when I couldn't damage them, I used them to increase my Combo Gauge to 9999: bait them with Adol, turn into Roo, get RIGHT BEHIND their backs, equip the Short Sword and transform into Adol again, then run against them. They would get stunned, but no damage would be given. So I used something to hold the controller like that and waited for a while. Then I could SPAM AWAY 1-hit-kill fireballs. And also careful not to take damage.
