You didn't complain about it in the PM! lol By the way, it's weird you didn't like the Chronicles ST, Wyrd. I wonder what you will think of the GAME.

So far I'm loving the soundtrack. But I also love the focus on guitar and violin they have this time so it works out well for me

The Morning Glow in Ys Chronicles was epic. The other version I really liked was from Ys Symphony.
I like the Loo (those cute pika chu rabbits) village theme song from Ys Eternal Story (Complete) better though.

You mean Eternal Story's soundtrack is different from Complete's soundtrack??? I never knew this... that means I never heard Complete's soundtrack before...
So much about the wonderful world of Ys I dont know!

Again, I'm not saying I didn't like the soundtrack! It's a really nice change of pace, and I do think it's ONE of the best versions of the Ys I & II music that exists. I just don't think it's THE best. It's not like Persona's PSP remake, though. That's one where the newly-arranged music is just insulting! It's decent enough, but it doesn't even hold a candle to the original Persona 1's soundtrack - and that game DOESN'T allow you to switch between versions! It's new PSP music only! At least with this, the music is really good, and a worthy successor to Complete's soundtrack, even if it's not QUITE as good in most cases. Plus, you can change it on the fly! So I can't complain. I was just a little surprised... I expected to like it better than Complete's. -Tom Yuck, and I hate Shoji Meguro (that is the name, right?). Well, I just dislike the music... I'm still getting Persona even though I have 3 and 4 and never played 4 yet and have sunk about 50 hours into three, but restarded 4 times D: In any case, I'm STILL excited! God, I need to stop being such a fanboy for Ys xD

So much about the wonderful world of Ys I don't know! Haha. Now go play Ys I-II COMPLETE. It has 2 soundtracks, actually, though only one made into Chronicles. And Ys ETERNAL has YET another soundtrack. 4 new soundtracks, actually.

I think Persona 2 had the best soundtrack of all of them, ESPECIALLY Innocent Sin. Jeebus, that battle theme still gives me goosebumps. I don't think Meguro did it though; iirc it was Toshiko Tasaki (plus two other guys for Eternal Punishment, Kenichi Tsuchiya and Masaki Kurokawa).

I finally got a chance to give the soundtrack to Chornicles a listen and I've gotta say for the most part, I really love what they did. Not that they ever cease to impress in the music department. That said, I don't like what they did for the first half of the bridge in Overdrive. Probably the only song where I... well, I don't prefer the original - Origin is the definitive version of that song, imo. BUT YEAH. :/

This soundtrack disappointed me, especially next to the versions of Termination and Over Drive in the Youtube videos for the 2009 concert.
Hell, I think I liked the DS soundtrack more than this. At least with the DS there's a good reason why everything is note-for-note with the other versions; this one doesn't have an excuse.

Because this is the most relevant topic I'll ever find about growing mornings, I'll ask here.
Was there ever a proper release of the ending theme to the Ys anime? It's a beautiful semi-engrish vocal version of The Morning Grow.
Can't find anything on that site Varion posted, it doesn't seem to be a track on the actual anime soundtrack.

I need help! In Lami Village in Ys II Chronicles. Who do I give those fruit too to get that last item im missing. I got what looks like an apple pie and meat in Lance Village giving apples and flowers to this girl and guy walking around. I gave something to the guy in the fire village, got another meat type item. Now I'm missing the last one and not sure how to get it. I know nightwolf had a webpage long time ago showing all the secrets of Ys I II Eternal

Me and Hide should just buy those things in bulk already.
You know, despite emulating quite a few games for it I actually don't even know what a Turbo Duo looks like...
On topic, I agree that the music for the calmer pieces didn't keep up too well. Same for the slow pieces in fast paced songs, just listen to Termination. The slow part has no impact at all and feels out of place. And why omit the most awesome part of Complete's Holders of Power, the stuff that starts at 1:07?
Not a bad soundtrack, but it was kinda stupid for me to think it would be the best version all. Especially with the crazy amount of Ys I/II variations around, it can't live up to favorites scattered across different systems and various re-arrange albums.
