For me, they're like, 90% hit, 10% miss. (: OK, maybe 80/20, but still... I like them more often than I don't, and I rank most of them WELL above the vocal themes from any other video games. I'm the opposite. I've pretty much been indifferent, nearly-hurled, or yawned at the ones I've heard. The vocal version of Termination makes me want to murder someone. I REALLY REALLY LOATHE IT. I sure hope it does. I also hope they'll tone down the annoying screeching sounds from the beginning of the tune. ........... I wonder if that time of month is approaching again since I'm in a rather negative mood today. It's kind of weird though because I just spent a good part of the evening last night bopping to the nifty Yuusha 30 soundtrack which, BTW, is getting more and more awesome with each listen. :3

Actually... I'm not very fond of Falcom's vocal tracks much either. Infact, unlike ye all, I pretty much hate them all! X( ...Except one which's name I can't remember.
Anyways, I found Ys VI's vocal arrangements to be ear gratingly bad. DX
But I still want that drama cd. For collection's sake! ...I wonder if Adol and Dogi and everyone will burst into the vocal songs themselves, mid-drama-cd-story....? :'D

The only vocal track I've heard is YSY, since I've generally tried to avoid them thanks to RPGFan's soundtrack reviews. I'm still thinking about getting the Felghana SAV though. Also, I didn't really like the instrumental version of the Ys VI SAV. THEY RUINED MIGHTY OBSTACLE. D:

Yeah vocal tracks are either a hit or miss with me as well. This one Ys album I bought off of Adoru had a vocalized Termination done in an absolute 80's cheese fashion. It was on the Ys Memorial Album. It's fun to listen to, but wow.... talk about odd. I'm sure you all can imagine how that would sound. : )

Sounds like Heaven to me. ;) Anyway, Mutagene, two things: (1) Don't base your opinions off of reviews! Sample the tracks for yourself, and see what you think. Not everyone is going to agree with every reviewer! If you want, I can send you samples sometime. But shh! Don't tell anyone I said that. ;) (2) Don't let anyone tell you that the Felghana SAV is bad. Many will try... but they're all wrong. It's a fantastic album. (: ????!!!!???? I somehow find these two statements kind of contradicting to each other. ^^;;;;;;;;; You know, I never read reviews on soundtracks. I just listen to them and pick out tunes I like. :3 Besides, reviews tend to build up expectations ahead of time before you actually listen to a tune which may end up as a let down of sorts. :( It's kind of like how everyone and their ancestors praised the hell out of Xanadu Next and then I ended up playing it and went, "That's it? THIS is the pure awesome people were talking about!?" :((((

I absolutely loved many of Falcom's vocal tracks, especially the ones from Loh6. Feena album from Minami Shoko is awesome as well. I guess the one I like least is the Songs from Zemeth.
tries hard to steer away from topic

I said I LIKE them the least. I did not say I HATE them. Well alright, I didn't say it correctly in the first place.

Oi, people who preordered this from Falcom's site. Got a reply from them and uh:
"The information which is necessary for the order is the following.
*telephone number:"
wat.

Thanks for explaining the telephone number thing having to do something with EMS. Because I would have initially thought they wanted to call me or something to confirm the order! *laughs*
I just sent Yakra's pre-order off and I haven't had them reply back as of yet about the telephone number, but at least now I'll know what it means. : )

They actually asked me for my number too, back when I won that prize. The oddest thing was... they even asked me at what time would I be at home. X'D
But I figured that the telephone-time thing was Japan only, since... when I replied back with them and told them my address too, they apologized for asking extra unneeded info? X'D

Pre-Arrange OiF ST > OiF OST

Seriously, I just listened to it last week and I thought to myself: "Why wasn't this the actual soundtrack?"
Though both are nice.
*ahem*, that, is my opinion.

I also know I'm not totally alone in this. Though seriously, I hate the Redmont tune used for OiF. It's the worst version of the song of ALL versions, ever. It completely lacks its original spirit. Which, surprisingly, wasn't the case of its pre-arrange version. They should have used the pre-arrange version AT LEAST for that song, in particular. The rest of OiF's OST is awesome stuff though. I'm not sure if I think the rest of them are worse than their pre-arrange counterparts, mostly because the style itself is different, so it's hard to compare. They are just... awesome and something else at the same time. Though I think what also counts is that I played OiF billions of times in order to make the bugs, items and pots guides that I have nearly finished, but stopped... for now. So I got really sick of that goddamned violin. It's way too overused. It's awesome for a good amount of hours, but eventually your ears bleed. ... But this isn't an OiF thread, is it? XD Oh well. *looks at topic title* Pre-orders!! Order! Order!

Well, you see, there were some Limited Editions of the game, and they came with something called "Music Box in Felghana", which cointained 8 music CDs: 7 with Ys III music CDs re-released and another music CD called "Ys: The Oath in Felghana: Pre-Arrange Version" or something. That's the CD we are taling about. Actually I'm just nitpicking with the OiF OST. Both are awesome, so fear not.

I find it odd that you like that Redmont tune so much. xD They made a happy, energetic, non-boring town song the very opposite. The song sounds "dead" and tedious.

... No. XD Hell no. Also because whenever you returned to Redmont after finishing a dungeon or whatever, it's because something BAD happened. Always! xD Redmont scenery appears... then the music starts playing... then you have to hear the disaster or unfortunate event that occured or will occur. It's always like that. So, no. xD If it made me think of birds, those would be dead birds rotting on the floor. xD

Circus music?! Hell no! Compare for yourself! XD (Even Ys III's Dancing on the Road is more circus-y, by a wide margin.) The name of the music: Trading Town of Redmont! It has to be happy and agitated! Not depressive ****. Also, that ain't circus stuff, it kind of has a flavor of italian music in it!! Plus many other awesomenesses! @.@ The other one is all about dead birds and people though! Seriously, it isn't anything how it was in Ys III. But the pre-arrange version not only is more loyal, but also alive! Harmonious! And not tedious, "dead" music... '=_=

That's what Snatcers do: kill the person to take his place. I agree, Red must've been snatched by Sel.

Hahaha. xD You guys have no idea how much I compare myself to him and think I have been behaving more and more like him each day. xD But... no. xD I haven't been snatched. (Yet ) I thought this eventually would be brought up, so I already have a thought-of answer. There's a vital difference between us: sometimes, Seldane just ranted about something, but didn't give actual arguments to back up his opinion. Though I think that, as time passed, he had been doing that less and less... As for my case, I always present my point of view the way it is and/or present either solid or "fair enough" arguments to back myself up. Though admittedly, sometimes it doesn't come out the way I intended. xD That's it. XD
