This is also the best method to level up until Lv.51 or so. Don't forget the equipment! Money is important in this game, if you want to beat Majunun. You can use it to buy Vitality Seeds. Each Vitality Seed costs, from Kevin: - On Normal: 20000 GOLD - On Hard: no idea (100000 GOLD?) - On Nightmare: 200000 GOLD On Nightmare, if you use that method since Lv.50, by the time your HP gets to 999, you will have achieved maximum level anyway, so experience or leveling up isn't a bigger concern. Even when the bomb enemies start giving 1 EXP each. On Nightmare, Majunun is not recommended under level 59 or 60. On Normal, you can try your luck on level 53, 55 or so. Again, no idea about Hard. xD How to do the glitch/exploitable technique: Equip the Heavy Belt to be with the Slow status. Now equip Ericcil. Now Dash Slash (Tap direction --> Stop --> Press Attack+Jump), and repeat. Note that Ericcil is recommended, because it has less Dash Attack frames, so you have greater control, speed and timing possibilities over the technique. I like calling it the "Dash Slash Chain" (DSC for short). It can be executed in other ways as well, and each version (PSP/PS2/PC) has its own ways, but that one works in them all.

Oh, I almost forgot something.
In the PSP version, the Ericcil magic will chase ALL the monster from the room you are in, so it's a good idea to spam it away. In the PS2 version, though, it will only chase the enemies within the screen. =s I wonder why. As for the PC version, I have no idea, yet.
Also, if you are playing on either Hard or Nightmare, don't forget those colored enemies might also show up (red, blue, yellow), so if you release the thunder spell in the PSP version, but don't see your money raising, it's because it all was wasted on an either red or blue enemy.
By the way, I wonder if anyone here will even end up using this, AND have the patience to use this until Lv.60. @_@ Usually, people either cheat (use Cheats in the PS2 version, or modify value in the PC version) or use Alma's Trials to/Rehdan trial thingy to level up (5 times in the PS2 version, 18 times in the PSP version). Though for the latter, you are sacrificing the chance to get a second unit of the Daylight Stone.

Oh, by the way, about Majunun.
Don't try equipping the Eldian Orb. It is absolutely useless, as I just noticed it won't make your magic recover faster if your swords are already at the maximum level. Nor will the Emelas Shield make they recover faster.
Also, I tried battling Majunun at Level 54 on Nightmare and... well, it's beatable. But I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Well, I just tested something.
Using that tactic of mine in that video, you can get 999999 GOLD in 1 hour and 45 minutes.
With that money, you can buy 5 Vitality Seeds on Nightmare, and 50 of them on Normal. (Though you will have to kill a squirrel or something later since you can't have 1000000 GOLD, so that you get the remaining 1 GOLD.)
Each Vitality Seed raises your maximum HP by 5. 5 x 5 = 25 HP 5 x 50 = 250 HP
Just saying.
Edit: Whoops, I thought it took 1h30min to get the gold, but in fact it takes 15 minutes longer. >_<

*revives 2-year-old thread* Just stumbled on this topic today, so I figured I should correct it on one thing: As ALoY member Ranzor once said years back, the best place for getting money in Ys VI (not sure about EXP, but that too, probably) is indeed that room in Limewater Cave full of those hard-shelled monsters that can only be killed when you have that one bell item equipped. It's not by that much, but it STILL is technically better by a considerable amount. Just saying.

Yeah, the top-left-most room hidden on the upper platforms, correct? I used to love that room in the PS2 version (it oddly doesn't work so well in other versions. ) using Ericcil's magic to pretty much empty it out. Great Emel and Gold!

Yes, precisely.
But... Odd, it should be equally good in all versions. Are you sure what caused the difference wasn't the difficulty settings used, instead? Because on Normal, it will definitely work like a charm, but on Hard/Nightmare, due to the presence of colored enemies, Ericcil's magic might get entirely "absorbed" by a monster flashing either red or blue.

The PSP version's magic is notably weaker than the PS2's. For instance, you could wipe out the Romun soldiers when you're out on the deck of their ships in the PS2 version. Not so in the PSP version. In both cases, it's Normal mode.

Oh... I had no idea. All I knew as far as differences go is that on the PS2 its magic will only chase enemies within the screen/view, while on the PSP it chases all of them within the room. (Not sure how it's on the PC.)

Really? On the PS2, I actually had the magic go off-screen killing baddies. It was the PSP version that seemingly limited the magic to "enemies in plain view".

On the PS2 it does reach a bit beyond offscreen, but not by much. I especially recall it killing all enemies within a room on the PSP version because of its exclusive Isha minigame in which you had to search for her in a big room and rescue her: I just blindly shot Ericcil's magic whenever the gauge was full, and that alone was enough to wipe out all enemies in the whole huge room without me ever even seeing them. XD (I could tell they were getting killed because my money kept raising.) I recall the money farming method I uploaded years back is more effective on the PSP version, too, because while I dashed to kill the bomb enemies, I could kill the rest of the enemies by spamming the magic. I don't think it matters, but I did that on the US version of both the PS2 and PSP versions.

On Nightmare, Majunun is not recommended under level 59 or 60. On Normal, you can try your luck on level 53, 55 or so. Again, no idea about Hard. xD On Hard you start doing more than 1 damage on level 53 with all STR+ itens equiped. But I've readed somewhere else that is recomended at least level 55 to suceed. use Alma's Trials to/Rehdan trial thingy to level up (5 times in the PS2 version, 18 times in the PSP version). OK, I did that thing to level up the final levels truoght the Trials on PSP. But on PS2: Tell me, how is this even possible? As far as I tried you can only gain levels in Alma Trials if you're under a certain level determined by the level of the trial (level 1 to 5). I was at level 50 when I completed all 5 Trials. In none of them I was able to gain a level.

Wow, first of all, welcome! xD Hm, really? I mean, by the end of each trial, Crevia should give you 4 options to choose from: Gain gold, gain Emel, gain level or gain nothing. IIRC, the mini-games in the PSP version worked the same way. Didn't Crevia offer you those options each time? If not, that's very odd! I never picked the level options, though: I always went for "nothing" to gain a second Daylight Gem, as I could gain gold/emel/exp by myself later on (even if it's painful). So since I never tried, I can't know for sure. Also, thanks for offering me all this data on Hard mode. P.S.: Do you speak Italian? xD I get the feeling you do due to your nickname! Perhaps you have come from the figlidigaucci forums where Doppiapunta released his Ys VI PC English patch? Just curious.

Sorry for not introducing myself before Answering your questions in order: Crevia really give all that options that you mentioned but if you choose Experience, depending on the level you're at she will say you are already too experienced for that and tell you to choose another option. I was counting on that since I was used to this on PSP. This is my first time on PS2 version. You get the feeling right. My name is actually a Italian family name, that's because my first name originated from my grandpa last name. My grand grandpa's father was a Italian who migrated to Brazil back them. But all that I have from Italy is the taste for pasta I do know who is Doppiapunta but never got to this forum. Sorry. I'm just a sick fan of this game series but never got to much time to chat online. So I'm having a hard time passing from level 53 to level 54... I'm kinda learning to be very patient with this game hahahaha

Yeah, he's right, the PS2 version is comparably unforgiving. Welcome, fellow Esterian.

I almost forgot to post. I've finally beat Majunun at level 54. But this time I equiped not only the accessories that give more STR, but also the Galba Shield (+5 STR).
It was kinda hard to do it at this level but with few tries I managed to beat it.

Yep, I beat him at the same level on Nightmare. Leveling to 54 was quite a chore in the PS2 version, and I can't imagine going any higher without a good reason - it's just too tedious.

Can't agree more. Leveling to 54 was depressing, It took kinda 3 hours (maybe I'm not on the best spot to gain exp, but can't see a better place), but I'm really impressed that you managed to do the same on Nightmare difficulty since people say that you need a higher level to do that on Nightmare (around 58 to 60). Case if someone wanders, I've been training on this room on Ruined City Kishgal where you find a door that leads you to another room with 3 treasure chests. I really wanted to get on max level in this game, but if I gonna do this, will surely be on nightmare and not on hard, just to make the "ultimate complete save game", it's fun for me.

About Majunun, I can't remember for sure, but I think I used my current Capla Waters during the fight (to use lightning magic quicker), as I believe he drops 3 of them when he's dead (I know he does in Time Attack, at least). If so, I think I used them when I was low on HP and magic - if it was just HP, I'd use a Blue Potion instead, and wait for the magic to recharge normally. I also want to say that in addition to STR accessories, I probably also had the Lucky Silver Coin equipped in order to increase the chances of getting critical hits (really helpful), but honestly, I only barely remember doing this fight in story mode (thought I still didn't do it, but I loaded up a save recently and found that I actually did do it previously ). I don't remember where exactly, but I also used a place in Kishgal until level 54. After that, I think they were still giving more than 1 EXP (barely), but decided that Limewater Cave would be faster at that point, since there's a bunch of slimes, and they're easier to kill (using the lightning magic). Anyway, good luck if you do decide to grind to 60 (if I do, I'll save it for the PC version, as I imagine there's little to no loading times between screens - may save a couple headaches).
