www.konami.jp/Ys-napishtim/top.htmlIn the official site, you can see info about the PS2 version, the PSP version (both released in 2005) and another "PSP Special Edition" version, only released 2 years later, in 2007. For it to come out so late... it must have something... else. Does anyone here know more about that "PSP Special Edition"?? I'm really curious.

I may be TOTALLY wrong about this, but........ wasn't this the special edition in which they added in some extras that were already available in the U.S. and European editions? Such as the Trials? ....Or wait, were those extras already there in the original, non-special Japanese version?

Oh... that might be it, Yakra. You see, I Google-translated the page, and it was talking about the Trials, the exclusive mini-games, the "Ys Media Player" etc., but I found it weird, since... those things weren't new... the only thing I found weird was that it said something about getting a password or something when playing on Boss Rush, since such passwords aren't available in the US version, except for the PS2 version, as far as I know. Hmmm... Your theory is plausible. I know what to do from here on, thanks.

You know what to do? What, find it? Isn't it the same as the US PSP version?

Yeah, but being the maniac Ys researcher I am, I want to do some comparisons. I had seen screenshots of that version before, actually. I recall something about the menu was also different... I want to see if certain bugs also are present in it... it doesn't take as long to check out those as one may think, too.

You should apply as a bug tester for Falcom.

I see. Holy shit, NO ANALOG NUB?!?! This sucks, also considering this is a game that can make GREAT use of it, unlike i.e. bumping system Ys games. Just... wow. The japanese must have hated this first, lame PSP port... Weren't we lucky...

Well, the game certainly is a bit too much for the PSP, but I personally think that port came out well enough. I mean, it's Ys VI in your hands!! And I love the extras! (Raba's Diary/Notes, Ys Media Player, 9 mini-games with 2 difficulty levels each (playable both separately or for your playthrough, second unit of the Daylight Stone by finishing the minigames 18 times (9 x 2) and choosing no reward all the times, really nice audio and movie quality... <3 And they have the features from the latest Ys VI PC version. ~ And in english. It's definitely the less good version of all three, but it is extremely underrated. =( I also hear a lot of complaints about the load times, but they are zero if you use CFW. =x

Yeah, the PSP version has very short load times with CFW. Also, it uses the original intro instead of the vastly inferior PS2 version. I really don't think it's a bad port, even though it's certainly graphically inferior to the other two versions. As Red said, the extras are very nice, as well.

What we got was also a lame PSP port. The PS2 version is much better. The original PC version even more. >___>''''' .........I can't stand that PS2 version. With its kitschy intro and the lame voices. Uuugh! (And I don't get easily disappointed by stuffs!)
((Though kitschy intro has a certain charm of its own~ But the voices don't! *stabs Olha*))

I liked the whole of the PS2 version. xD Well, I wasn't much of a fan of the new cinemas either, but since they also kept all the original ones (via a cheat code), I guess I can't complain. xD
