Booo! I finally decided that screw it, I'm waiting for an english patch no more, it's time to play Ys Origin.
But when I go to install the bonus disk I get....
"Runtime Error!
Program: D:\fsetup2_yso.exe"
Can anyone offer any suggestions please? I'd really like to finally tear through this game, it's been sitting on my shelf for almost 2 years lol
Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem, it's easy to fix. For some reason, the installer on the extra disc won't run unless it's in the YSO_WIN folder. Put the extra disc in and on the YsO extra disc icon (in my computer) right click it and "open" the disc. Drag the icon "festup2_yso" installer into your YSO_WIN folder and run the installer from there. Arena mode is not readily available in a new game, but you can verify the install worked when all the difficulty levels appear: Hope this helps!

For me It works fine even if it's not placed in the main game folder. about the english patch: we're still workin' on it...it' a very long and hard task due to the big scritp and to the large amount of graohic files. More there are several techinical issues we have to fix...so..plese...be patient.

I'm so waiting for this patch. xD By the way, I still think Falcom should put an "Inferno" difficulty there. xD

Huh, thanks for the help! That's giving me a better response but what happens now is I get a window with a bunch of japanese text in it, and only an "ok" button. Then a white box with a black square in the top left corner appears on my desktop and doesn't leave How utterly bizarre.. what is going on lol EDIT: Nevermind, copied the entire contents of the cd this time instead of just the installer. Worked like a charm, thanks!

So I had the same experience as superlocke and got an install window that said "Update". So I did, ran through a couple of "Next" buttons (I'm assuming, it's in japanese) and then was returned back to the update window. When I go into the game however it doesn't give me the other 2 difficulties. When I copied file into the YSO_WIN folder, I copied everything but the YSO_WIN.exe application.
Just as a side note, any version of the YSO_WIN.exe that wasn't originally in the folder gives me the error message: "The procedure entry point SetThreadAffintityMask could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNELYS.DLL."
The original one works fine though... figured it wasn't that important to replace it.

Ok, I looked around online and saw that making an empty file (like through notepad) called data.ne and then putting it in the FALCOM/YSO_WIN/RELEASE folder would work. It didn't, but I saw some files in that folder called data_1100.na and data_1100.ni so I followed suit and made a data_1100.ne... which did work. Ugh, not sure why this works with the game, seeing as how the file has -nothing- in it. Unless it just gets pointed to it and as long as it exists, it allows other difficulties to be played. Whatever, time to enjoy the fruits of my labor. ^_^;
