Okay, so I finished the first Dragon Trial and I assume the next destination is Zagram. However there's an imperial roadblock in the way. How do I get past this?

Lunar: Use the bell at the red symbols on the rock walls. There's one west of Shannoa and there's one in the cave where you need to use the lamp. I got stuck at that part, too.

Well once again, I'm stupid. Now, on with my adventure!

If so, then my square button will suffer the same fate, since I remapped the controls before starting. Yeah, I don't know how anyone can play with the circle button mapped as attack. Silly Falcom. Really? Guess that makes me silly too. Circle feels perfect for attacking. What's wrong with it?!?

I changed swapped the functionality of the triangle and start button. I'm too used to triangle being the party menu from like... every other RPG ever. Left the attack buttons the same, too, though... so I guess I'm half-silly?

I also think circle's fine. Since x is used for dashing it doesn't really matter if attack is circle or square, the angle I hold my thumb is the same. Just pointing left or right. I guess it's sort of a mind set thing though.. for example I always get confused when switching between officially localised and non localized games. The whole switching of the functions of circle and x never made much sense to me (god FFVIII felt awkward at first) but since then I've gotten used to x being confirm. Always takes me a minute or so to get my head around using circle again. ^^

What level should I be at for the final battle? It's really hard

About 58~60 should be enough for final battles in hard/nightmare difficulties if you have proper skills and weapons equipped on all characters.

Okay no, but seriously, there's a fine line between challenging and just unfair, and the first form of the final boss crosses that line. How is this even possible without using up all of my healing items and screwing myself over for the rest of the fight?

How is this even possible without using up all of my healing items and screwing myself over for the rest of the fight? Truthfully, the first part of the final boss battle in Ys VI messed me up big time too. BUT! The relief came after in that the second form was soooooo yawn-inducing (on Normal). Whee. Glad to know I will get my ass kicked in the final fight. :D Been wanting tougher boss fights for a while even though I'm pretty much in that stretch now since I be playing with dragons that have too much goddamn HP.

How is this even possible without using up all of my healing items and screwing myself over for the rest of the fight? Once you get part the first form you'll probably be in a situation where you didn't use many items for it. The following fights are less erratic, I think, and more manageable without the use of items. If you try to bum rush them you may end up needing a few though, heh.

So there's this laser light puzzle in the last dungeon. At least I'm assuming its the last dungeon. I've already solved it so i can advance, but there's another red target way south that leads to another treasure chest, so probably another weapon. But I cannot seem to figure out how to position a red laser to hit it. I did get a blue one at it but of course blue doesn't do a thing to red. Any help?
Nevermind, I completely forgot about the red crystal at the start before the main room while figuring out the alignment of the other 3 crystals.
A different question instead, Does anyone know the max level of skills? I got adol's air slash thing to 9, working on his other main skills i like with each at 4.

I probably spent way too long trying to figure out that stupid light puzzle. I had the same realization as you... after I just up and quit and came back to it while farming up synth materials.

LOL! I found one good reason to use Elk! XD
Shove Bandit and Steal abilities onto him and whale on enemies!!!! I'm making a killing in materials and gold! Double the fun with the Thief Gloves or Medaille of Luck and stuff. XD
Works well on stationary monsters like the Selmoose in the Sacred Ground of Flame.
This is so fun!!! ^^;;;;

No kidding W-man. I'm continually having a tough time figuring out who should be in my main party (They're all so good, especially Elk and Aisha!!!). The fact that you have to use specific characters to defeat some enemies isn't helping either.
I don't see how it could have been implemented in-game but I wish you could switch your party members easier, without having to go through 3-4 menus. Course this would be problematic for boss battles.

I'm not good with melee characters. XD 99% of the time in any action games that have ranged/support characters I'll end up sticking to them. <3 <3 <3
I'm totally an Aisha/Sigroon user but I move around to other characters if it takes forever to take out an enemy due to BAD ATTACK from arrows. :P
BTW, does it annoy anyone else that your party members won't seem to attack unless you LAND hits on an enemy or attempt to harvest stuff??? Or is there something in the AI options that makes them attack more frequently on their own.
(I think I asked/mentioned this before? X__x)
BTW, that Jar of whatever (not looking at the list :P) item is AWESOME. @_____@ I no longer need to take time out to run around and grab spoils! :D

Okay, so I just beat the Dragon in the Great Tree (epic fight, btw). The way to the other two shrines are blocked by guards though. How do I get to those ones? You have to open the paths with the red symbols on the rock walls with the bell. I just beat the Dragon in great tree too. I am trying to get to Seigram but I can't reach it the normal way because of a roadblock. I understand you have to open the paths using the moon marks, but where exactly are those rock walls?

Just a bit of babbling and not requesting for help (XD):
Good lord, the light puzzle in the final dungeon killed game time. It didn't help that I was half asleep when playing it though.
There's that one red crystal in the southern path that I could NOT get the red light to reach for the life of me.
I just peeked at the guidebook now and forgot that I could have directed the light back to a previous crystal on the west side. >_>;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
And yesssssssssssss, I can FINALLY go through the story thread without worrying about spoilers. HUZZZZZZZZAH~!!
Edit: Glad I looked at it too cuz there's something about the final boss battle that I needed to know. Now I gotta go and grind the hell out of one character's skills. :P
