Sometimes when it loads a map, it runs at 60 fps. Sometimes when it loads the same map, it runs at 15 fps. Sometimes when I go into my equipment menu, it can swap the framerate to either 15 or 60.
It's giving me a headache when the framerate drops that low because it isn't even stable. Telling it to skip frames doesn't alleviate the issue either.
Did anyone here run into this problem and come up with a solution? It makes killing things sometimes deadly and bothersome. :/

I only turned it on in the hopes that it'd help. I normally leave that off since 90% of the time it is programmed to only reduce the load, not smooth out the appearance.
With Ys 2 running, I still have 2.7GB of ram available out of 4 GB, tried a fresh boot, tried a safe mode boot. No luck there either though.
I kind of wonder if it might be a multi-core CPU issue, I'll have to try locking it to one core I guess. It is at least the version marked for Vista, so it didn't expect it to have issues? Ys 1 had similar but vastly inconsequential and generally felt non-existant with the framerate. It wasn't until Ys 2 that it became often enough that I actually could tweak it and play with it etc.

Time stop would trigger the issue too. I narrowed it down to a directx protocol but stopped caring beyond that. Zava on nightmare with blinking bats and bullets was annoying.
