I noticed the save points outside of the two villages can be teleported between once they turn red. The thing is, the only playthrough they did it for was a nightmare playthrough in the PS2 version and they only turned red after a certain point in the story. Does anyone know the circumstances for this? Does it have to be a nightmare playthrough or does there have to be another completed file on the system or what? I'm assuming it only works in the PS2 version. Thanks.

... I never heard of this. Nor did I ever see it, myself. And I have played Ys VI in the following conditions: - Ys VI PS2 Hard; - Ys VI PS2 Nightmare; - Ys VI PSP Normal; - tried out Ys VI PSP on Nightmare a bit, too.

For some reason, I was under the impression that this only occurred on the Normal difficulty, although I've never really bothered to take a closer look at what actually triggers it. I've played the game (PS2 version) at least once on all difficulties, and the only time I remember that warp being there was in my first playthrough (Normal difficulty).

My experience with PS2 version:
1st playthrough on normal--no teleporter. Cheats used (language, opening). Time attack, etc. unlocked.
2nd playthrough on hard--teleporter activated (blue to red) after first visiting Port Rimorge. Cheats used.

I must know more about this. There's not much to it. The save point turns bright red and gives the option to either save or warp to Rehdan Village/Port Rimorge. I really can't remember what triggered it. Do you delete your files when you begin a new game. My second playthrough had it but then I deleted the files and started another playthrough and didn't get it. Could be wrong- really not sure what causes it.

Hmmmmm... well...
In the PS2 version, I actually lost my Hard save file somehow, and since I didn't feel like playing the game again to unlock Nightmare, I used a cheat to unlock it, so for my Memory Card, it was my first playthrough. However... in the PSP version, I didn't see it glow red when I was doing my 2nd playthrough on Nightmare right after finishing my Normal playthrough.
Anyway, this is definitely worth of more investigation. I'll analyze the matter better as soon as possible, which should be sometime later this week.

One of the walkthroughs on GameFAQs claims that the warp is activated upon clearing the game (or by activating that particular in-game cheat), but that doesn't explain why it occurred in my first playthrough (should've been without cheats, but I can't recall). While I did buy the game in "used" condition (I think), that shouldn't matter since my memory card didn't contain any Ys VI files before that time...
Anyway, sgp6: are you for certain that you noticed this on the Nightmare difficulty? My Normal and Hard files do have the warp available, but not the Nightmare ones. I even did brief no-cheat playthroughs on both Normal and Nightmare up until Port Rimorge, but only the Normal game had the warp appear (appears after entering Rimorge).

To be honest, no I'm not sure. I've played through nightmare only once and I think it came up, but maybe it was a hard mode playthrough.
.............and the more I try to remember, the more I get the feeling it was hard mode. I get confused as I've played different difficulties on the multiple platforms.

Well, my first Ys VI playthrough ever was on Hard, and I really don't recall having seen that. But, considering that playthrough was done in the middle of 2005, I won't deny the possibility my memory may be not serving me right. xD
Anyway, thanks for the info, everyone. xD

Yeah, if you're going to test it, maybe you'll figure out for sure what spawns it. If it doesn't show up at first, try waiting until after you find blirante.

I've tested it. Today, I did a brief playthrough without a memory card inserted, so it was basically like playing the game "new". Unlike yesterday's tests (with a memory card), when I entered/exited Rimorge, the save point was still blue. Afterwards, I popped the memory card with the Ys VI files back in (as there were some other things I wanted to look into), and when I went back to that screen later, the save point was red.
So, from what I can gather, the warp is only available on the Normal and Hard difficulties. It seems to first become available after entering Rimorge (just enter quickly, and exit), but only if the game has been completed once beforehand (or probably if you use the cheat that unlocks Time Attack/Nightmare, which is normally available upon completing the game).

I see. Wow, nice job, korzic. xD
Well, since I got a clear Normal save on Ys VI PSP, I'll try restarting on either Normal or Hard to see if that feature is also present in that version.
That's reeeeeally interesting to me. Sweet stuff. =)
