Just started this game but according to the FAQ on GameFaq's I should be able to find this pendant in the first quarry. Well I've been up and down half a dozen times but can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You can't get to it for a while (barring the exploitation of Boost Mode, I believe), but it should be across a broken bridge, close to the area where you get the Storehouse Key.

Even if you do manage to get across before obtaining wind magic, you won't be able to give it to Aida. So it's kinda pointless.

Yeah, when you get the wind magic go right a few screens from the save point near where you fight the semi-boss and go up the stairs. Then at the top double back to the left and there's a gap you can cross using the wind magic (which helps keep you airborne). But yeah, you can't get it for a while yet.

TX everyone. I misread the guide. Doh! Not too stupid then. I've now got the pendant and enjoying every minute of the game.

That's good to hear. OiF is an easy game to enjoy.

Well it's not taken me very long to reach the last bosses, but I'm missing the Spirit Robe. Does anyone remember where it is as it's location isn't mentioned in either of the faqs? Chearz.

Ilburn Ruins... it's in one of those outside sections, I believe the one near the 2nd save point. There's a wall you can break with the earth magic tackle and inside are a bunch of those skeleton warriors from the end of the game.

TX sgp6. I will backtrack and pick it up. Not going to be of much use for the final bosses I fear, but I hate to see empty boxes.

And this game does it the RIGHT way, by having the items you may no longer have in your possession simply darkened, rather than gone entirely, so you at least know you've gotten that item.
Some games like that, after said item is used up or given away, it goes back to a blank space, usually making it impossible to fill every spot up at the same time, giving you that satisfying full screen of items. Both Soul Blazer and Lagoon are guilty of this, though I do enjoy both of those games.
Soul Blazer is especially guilty, having a set of EIGHT items you trade for a single item. Makes your inventory look bereft.

And you're reminded of that whenever you play the third-party titles. Ys I DS? Yeah, thanks for adding pointless new equipment but forgetting to pull a new Ring out of your *** so the inventory always looks unbalanced. Or A New Theory with eleven swords and thirteen sets of armor and shield to go with them.
Of course, we shouldn't forget that even official games aren't perfect. Mask of the Sun has lots of blank spots in your inventory even if you hack your game so you have everything at once. All the more reason for Falcom to remake the thing already.

I know Falcom didn't develop it themselves but since they're claiming it's the One True Version of IV, it's the closest thing to an official version we have until they remake it themselves.

So do I really. I mean, it's the game they pitched as the Ys IV OVA, it's the one where all the song titles match up to the location they play in, it's the one that's got a song named after it (or the other way around) when there's no song called Mask of the Sun... oh yeah, and it's a much better game too. See the new avatar. I love this board; we've gone from a discussion about an item in Oath to inventory screens to which version of Ys IV is the best.

As much as I agree with your post, the menu theme for MoTS is actually called MoTS! And it's pretty rockin'! Even I previously overlooked it since it played for a split second in-game, but when I listened to the full rip, I was amazed!

*cough* remake *cough* need *cough* As long as it has the same awesome art. Seriously, I need to know who did that art from yotaka's avatar.
