Good assortment of action scenes, Innocent Primeval Breaker and good copy (yes, let's kick it up a notch!) in one package. A very promising beginning I think.

You failed to notice "Nihion Falcom" at the end of the English Ys Seven trailer. Damn, MP83's sharp eyes strike again.

I only didn't notice because my internet is too slow for 60 MB trailers lately. I've been downloading YouTube trailers via a plugin instead, at a very slow pace.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=AinkeT5Pa10YouTube version! If there's one complaint I have, it's the font. (It's always the font. XD) As well as the GIANT TEXT THAT TAKES UP THE ENTIRE SCREEN. I know Falcom plasters their trailers with text sometimes but it's never this glaring and annoying. I think the issue is the size as well as the boldness of the text. Otherwise, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY SEVEN! Ergh, even the font in the screenshots are ... .... :| It'd be funny if they held a discussion like doppi did for Ys VI on what font to use. :P I mean, look how beautiful that one came out! Nightwolve's I & II Complete and Felghana had good fonts too. Sigh.

The font is the same as what's in the menus on roman lettering, so I'm going to take a wild guess that it is the original romanized font in the game. Ah, I thought it LOOKED like an "Asian font" in English. I thought everything was done though. D: Thankees for the insight~~~! Here's hoping that there'll be a snazzy font face~! I'm hoping that's the reason because it gave sort of an amateurish vibe to it. (Type-face-wise, not the editing.)

The music skips in the Seven trailer, most likely an editing problem
Good copy, but why multiple fonts for the same purpose.
Bless their hearts for trying at least

Good copy, but why multiple fonts for the same purpose. Cuz they lack a good graphic designer.

Lack of a good graphical designer is becoming more and more painfully apparent...
Hrm.. I might try to sneak this trailer onto some media servers here at work. Here's hoping the video format is one we like. If not I'll have to transcode it in FCP.

Was this trailer a part of the sony press conference or was it just released at the same time as e3?

From what I've heard, the release date is August 31st? The same day as Metroid Other M and Dead Rising 2.. I hope it doesn't get cannibalized TOO badly in sales, though it kind of already has an established group of people that will buy it come hell or high water
Also why is the word Rough capitalized in that Oath screenshot

Maybe they are taking the Final Fantasy XII approach where they capitalize random words...

We could do mock ups of what we think the cover should look like, what fonts would look good as in-game fonts, and then give 'em to XSEED .... as fan art. XD
*puts Dogi's foot in the center of the cover*

Ys: the Oath in Felghana: Comic Sans Edition
ADDENDUM: Can "WHAT SAY WE KICK IT UP A NOTCH!?" be the new slogan for ALoY?

At least they are localizing the games...
Unlike Namco with the Tales series...

Namco can keep their Tales in Japan. I want original IPs.
(Given that each Tales game pretty much has its own unique characters, story, and some unique thingy with the battle system, I suppose I shouldn't rage about them so much since it's not really the same game over and over.
I think it's more like I'm just sick of seeing game titles starting with "Tales of" from Namco. XD And this is probably the reason people roll their eyes at Tales announcements in the first place. ^^;)

You're not to far off. As a person whose played all the Tales games I can say with certainty that they're stagnating. Its sad when you can count on one hand the number of Tales games that don't have the female lead attempting to sacrifice herself because she is the chosen one. To be honest thats a plot point I'm very sick of since its in every Mana game, most Tales games and even a few Final Fantasy games.
It baffles me as to why Sony barely mentioned any Falcom games when the PSP has such a strong lineup.
